I've Seen the Future, And it's Conservative

In a moment of uncharacteristic weakness today, I was bamboozled into accepting an invitation to be the after dinner speaker at Conservative Future's Annual Conference at the beginning of August. Is there NOTHING he won't do to get on the 'A' List, I can hear various correspondents muttering...

What a good boy Iain! Fancy handing out some Tory Radio postcards at Conference in October too?

Future? What future? Since when did young or old Conservatives think of the future?
No energy policy since 1979 and no reason to exist but to dismantle the state, or anyone, or anything.
Excellent. I commend this future, for you have no future.

Doom.

Oh, fantastic. I'll be there so looking forward to hearing what you have to say. It sounds like a great event.

Drat, wish I could go...conferences like this aren't really family friendly (although I've never been to a CF event like this, I can't imagine it being terribly suitable for a 5 year old)!

Any chance of making a podcast of the speech Iain?

This event looks great - finally an event that is for someone like me that is working full time: 25-35. I'm definitely looking forward to going, and of course because you are speaking Ian.
