Little Red Book: Waterstone's Here It Comes!

Great news on the Little Red Book. We're proofing it today, and it will go to the printers tomorrow. We'll get finished, printed copies next Friday, meeting our original deadline on the button. Not bad, eh? But the even better news is that Waterstone's have just ordered 1500 copies to have at the tills in all their UK stores. I have to pay a rather hefty marketing fee for them to have it at the tills, but it's a great way to sell books. Let's hope it works. If you haven't ordered your copy yet, you can do so HERE.

I hope you didn't forget the Robin Cook/Gaynor scandal!

It's not too late to write it. He is not to be forgiven just 'cos he's dead.

Great news Iain.

Do contributors get a copy as well?

Tory Lady - no we didn't. As if!
Woffle - yes of course.

I haven't ordered a copy but I certainly will be buying one, or two, or three. Thanks for doing that!

Can't wait to see it. Glad to see Waterstones is so interested.

Maybe you cannot answer this question in open forum. Should we buy our copies(6) from Politicos or Waterstones?

Iain Dale said...

Griswold, politico's of course!

Iain - does your current choice of reading and your A-list ommission portend a change of direction? We should be told! We welcome all sinners who repent!

Iain - There appear to be any number of "liitle red books" in print - let's hope your mighty tome doesn't get confused with "Chairman Blair's Little Red Book", which curiously has a bright blue cover (although thinking about it, this was surely the Publisher's intentional little joke) - or, worse still, Ann Summers' "Little Red Book of Red Hot and Rude Positions" - sounds like a real snip for only £5.49, delivered, from play.com!
Hmm.... very difficult,I really can't decide - it's either Ann Summers' or your's, I may have to go really mad and order both.

Iain.

You might want to look at the posting of "your mate" Guido regarding the death of John Smith. Sorry, but to say it is in poor taste is too mild. It is a classic display of the reptilian cold-heartedness that made the Tories unelectable for the past decade. It displays a kind of teenage, arrogant, insouciant boastfulness, bread from fundamental ignorance and general contempt for other human beings. It angers and irks. You seem far too intelligent and cultured a human being to want any association with that kind of thing. Have a word maybe?

If that kind of stuff rises to the surface again, you will be villified by the majority of British people who have a heart and some compassion for the feelings of other people, especially the family of the late John Smith QC.

Macles, As far as I know Guido is not a Tory - he's just anti everyone. However, I must admit I rather winced too when I read it.

Macles, don't be so uptight. If you can't handle it, DON'T READ IT.

That rather hysterical leap of suggesting that one man's juvenile humour will somehow lead to UK-wide villification is worthy of the ghastly self-righteous Daily Mail.

I hope you emailed Guido... since I notice you didn't leave a post.

Not a regular reader of my blog are you? There is loads of that kind of stuff every week.

Best not mention how much I made shorting the Dow on 9/11...

Well Iain. My last word on this. Guido seems very pleased with himself. I wonder when he shorted the DOW after 9/11, how many of his friends the other side of the Atlantic were out telling the "little people" to participate in the coming patriotic rally?

Back to your blog. I very much enjoyed the podcast on Franz Josef Strauss, but I would doubt Stoiber is the modern equivalent. He is quite hamfisted, for instance making some astonishing comments about the population of East Germany shortly before the last elections.
