Excellent piece on the life of Mr Forth. He was very unique. I think he deserved more attention. I also think it chimes quite nicely with how William Hague described himself as a (i paraphrase as I can't be arsed to find the whole quote, "19th century politician who would have got far more recognition, when all an MP's life was centred around parliament."

Forgive me if I'm being a little insensitive this early as regards Eric's successor at Bromley & Chiselhurst - but this is the lead thread on politicalbetting.com today - would you consider, as a fairly local lad and a good friend of his, throwing your hat into the ring for this seat?
