I can hardly believe it's 15 months since I last played golf, but there you go. Today I played 18 holes at Kings Hill, near West Malling. It's one of my favourite courses. I've played it dozens of times but somehow the course always throws up a new challenge, which I think is the test of a good golf course.
Whenever I play after a long break I usually play really well, and then go to pieces if I then play again within a week or two. And so it proved today. I think for the first time in my life I hit the ball well off all 18 tees - usually I scuff it at least once. And in the end I got 33 points using the Stableford scoring system.
I really must try to play more often. It's good exercise and I actually left my Blackberry in the car, so had four hours without any communication from the outside world. Which was nice.
