What's the Tory Story?

James Forsyth has a post on the Spectator Coffee House blog speculating that a big story relating to the Tories was about to break. I had a call from a senior Tory around 6pm saying the same thing, but I failed to drag out of him any hint at what it related to I'm afraid. Not very good at this investigative journalism lark, am I?

Cameron is giving a speech at 8am tomorrow morning. Wonder if it relates to that...

UPDATE 8.30: Two people rexckon it involves the Police. One says it involves the government, the Tories and the Police. A Treasury leaker has been discovered perhaps?

Is it the Times Populus poll?-- support for Brown collapsing

Dave I'd suggest only a third believing the Brown fiscal stimulus working is hardly evidence of support for Brown collapsing.

Maybe the story is the Tories going to cease their relentless 'We are doomed' campaign?

Surely it is about time someone crossed the floor from Labour! Kate Hoey, Frank Field?

Sky News have confirmed Damian Green has been arrested but not charged under the Official Secrets Act.

Looks like he might have been in touch with the Treasury mole.

How to win friends and influence people: arrest members of the opposition, Mugabe style. They are going to love this at the Guardian.

I read your blog to be told the news not to be the source !

:-)

The Mirror have been doing a story about Osbornes brother, but since Brown says he does not use family in politics this must be crap.

Is it leaks?
I seem to remember Labour manning the barricades to defend a certain civil servant, one Clive Ponting, who leaked information about the Belgrano sinking. And he got off.

I suggest you go back and dig a few comments up on who said what then.

It is of course all hypocrisy
Sir Humphrey in Yes Minister said, "The ship of state, Bernard, is the only ship that leaks from the top."
