Eighteen Years Ago Today... Lest We Forget
Eighteen years ago today, Margaret Thatcher was forced to resign as Prime Minister, after eleven and a half years in office. This is a nine minute report from that day's BBC One O'Clock News.
My generation's Kennedy assassination moment. I recall I was sitting in the prefects' common room (illicitly, as I wasn't a prefect, but all of my mates were, so I was an honorary user of the facilities) listening to Radio 4. I then ran from classroom to classroom, sticking my head round the door and shouting "She's gorn" gleefully. As the token red pupil in a pretty blue school, the teachers I interrupted allowed me my moment, unpunished, because most of them were at least pinkish and were silently cheering the news.
Yes, and Jabba does not recall Mrs T being voted out of office by the electorate but stabbed in the back by a bunch of wimps led by that little shithead Heseltine and that piece of bovine offal Howe.
That was the moment the eurotraitors Hurd, Howe, Heseltine, Ken Clarke, Lawson and so on finally decided that Britain's future would be inside the EU. Mrs Thatcher had made too many enemies, and was fatally weakened. It was Britain's tragedy that she fell before she could stop Maastricht from wiping us away.
Since when immigration has taken over, educational standards have plummeted. Police are hamstrung by red tape, and as a result, criminal gangs roam our streets with knife murder a daily event. Britain scarcely exists any more.
Those who would rebuild our country will have to go back to where she left off.
Hurd Howe Heseltine, Ken Clarke etc are Britain's greatest traitors. Just look at the mess their beloved EU has made of us.
It's weird how "important" (I use that term advisedly) events turn up on the same date - I had forgotten this was exactly 18 years ago, but 5 years ago on this date ..... it was that kick from Jonny that won us the 2003 RWC !
Two things I remember: Amos Brearly was landlord of The Woolpack Inn in Emmerdale Farm for every single second of the 1980s. And Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister.
Some arsehole on BBC Radio 2 yesterday afternoon made a comment about November 22 as a day of enormous significance...Kennedy assassination and the day "Thatcher was kicked out". Another example of left-wing bias subsidised by the taxpayer.

I blame this for my subsequent poor "A" level results!
Some of us are still celebrating!

I do sometimes wonder if we'd still be a self-governing nation if Norman Tebbitt had put his name forward and become Conservative Leader...
happy days!

Good heavens, eighteen years ago!
Seems only yesterday. I must be getting older.
I don't remember much about the day... but I do recall shouting "gutless wonders" and other choice phrases at the TV a lot.

An entire decade of that horrific, elitist, horrorshow disgrace to the nation.
The whole of the 80s...
Brings it home
