Oh, thank heavens it wasn't Blair! I haven't placed my bet yet! Does anyone know how to place a bet on the internet?
Undoubtedly, the worst day of my life.
Nice thought, better headline would have beenBlair found dead , 60 million not helping police with their enquiries,al say "we aint seen nuffink" Scottish cyclops seen rubbing onion in to eye
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ae5Ob7bZVvAThis ones even better - read the commnets!
I was getting my lunch in a local superstore when I heard Thatch had gone.Complete strangers were walking around telling each other 'She's gone, she's gone'.
You rotter! I've just got in and sadly checked my mail and this blog.Of course he hasn't resigned, he might miss out on a war...
Please stop doing these, it's terribly unfair for the people who use RSS readers and see "The Prime Minister Resigns" before they fall out of their chair.
I was in the House of Commons for a meeting on pensions when Tony Banks came in and gave us the news. Oh happy, happy day.
Much more important to know is what the score in the soccer was today?
In other news, Julius Caesar has just landed on the South Coast....
This happened a while ago didn't it?
I knew it couldn't be Blair. I thought it was going to be the Hungarian Prime Minister.
Verity - I do....Meanwhile, having clicked (and knowing it had to be a tease) I couldn't watch. Still too raw after all these years.
What about Betfair? It's the only one I know. And how can I get the odds? YOu can post a disclaimer: "Any idiot who follows my recommendations is a total idiot and should be cared for by others at state expense." I'm only going to risk £20. Or maybe £10.I like Peter Hitchens's "60m people not helping police with their enquiries", although it is a little conservative. What about all the people in other countries who also aren't feeling obliging? Barbados, for example, having felt the Blairina's rod on their backs and her thighs on the cushions?
Dear expat, it's called football, you've been gone to long- or not.
I didn't think much of her in those far off days but now compared to the disgusting people that are in power now it seems that it really was a golden age.
Verity,I'll do a post chez moi.
it was a bad old day!
I was in Aswan, at the military airport, waiting for a Carnival Airlines flight back to Cairo. I was the only English person in the waiting area. Suddenly I realised that I could read two phrases on the front page of an arabic newspaper, 10 Downing Street and Buckingham Palace. Putting two and two together I let out a whoop of delight. The cabin crew, some of whom were English had also heard the glad tidings and invited me into first class to share champagne! Terrific.
