Maggie's Last Party

This is a track from the Margaret Thatcher Great Speeches CD (available HERE) mixed by Pete Harman in 1991. Believe it or not, it reached number 10 in the 12" charts at the time!

I actually remember that! Please correct me if I am wrong Iain, but were you not interviewed at the time, or was that later regarding a box set of Mrs T's speeches?

Any prizes for guessing which speech this came from?

Iain
Thanks for the nostalgia. I realize I view Maggie rather as I do Ricky Ponting: don't really like the person or the team, but what a player!
[Amazing to be the first to comment on one of your posts: product of giving 9.0am lectures each Friday]

Is there a dance mix?

I can imagine that going down like a lead balloon if I dropped it into one of my sets.

"Dear Santa,
Please, please, please can I have a Conservative Party like before - one that isn't run by a clique of patronising, policy-free, trimming, wet, opportunist, bandwaggon-chasing, untrustworthy, mendacious, unprincipled, duplicitous lefty shits.

Also Hayeks' 'Road to Serfdom for Davie,
and Milton Friedmans' "Free to Choose' for Georgie Osbourne...and a copy of 'The Great Deception' for Willie Haigh...

And a chopped chilli enema for Gumboil.

Ta ever so much."

Iain ,did you ever "vogue" to that?
lord 1991 , Guido was dropping xtc, trying to avoid the police and probably dancing about blowing a whistle and waving a light stick around like a complete twat.
Now he is a semi retired and a father .I feel very old (and nostaligic)

That'll teach me to comment without listening to the whole thing. A vast improvement on the original, but still needs more backbeat.
