Chris Huhne Becomes Interesting

It's quite obvious that the Ming Emperor is seriously worried by Chris Huhne's growing popularity. Why else would his lieutenants have briefed The Times today that Huhne had originally pledged his support to Campbell. Huhne says this was 'tacit', whatever that means and seems completely unworried by it. If I were him I'd take the whole thing as a compliment. Alice Miles has an interview with him also in today's Times, which he emerges from relatively unscathed. However, I was struck by the fact that he says he supports both Chelsea and Southampton football clubs. Either this is an extremely clever ploy by him, or it makes him look an idiot to football supporters. Maybe this is where I went wrong in North Norfolk! I didn't hide my support for West Ham and resisted all blandishments to switch my affections to Norwich City. Oh well, at least I'll learn next time... If there is to be a next time. Talking of which, I guess I'd better fill in my A List application form...

It's highly unlikely that Huhne would be put in a situation where his footballing allegiances would be tested.

In applying for the A-list you will of course be competing against Adam Rickitt.

Rest assured we readers of your blog would be happy to conduct a whip-round to buy you some dumbells and a gallon of baby oil.

nuke labour, I'm quite dumb enough already, and how do you know my supply of baby oil isn't already plentiful?!

You can never have enough baby oil.

Especially if you're attempting to attract Libdem voters.

It's quite amusing watching the panic set in in the Campbell camp as all those clever young turks realise that their 'strategy' is turning to dust.

Huhne deserves to win just for being the one with the guts to run.
