The Trees That May Die In Vain

From Comment Central...

Labour vs Iain Dale

On Guido's blog, he records...

Guido was told by a Labour insider that they print out Iain Dale’s blog every day and file it for use against him should he ever manage to get a seat to fight. Fair enough, but isn’t all this somewhat pathetic.

They print it out! Why on earth would you do that. Haven't they ever heard of archives and Google?

Danny, Danny, you're missing the point. The key phrase in all that was "should he ever get a seat to fight"! Think of all the trees that will have died a death in vain if I don't. There, that should make the selection committees think, eh?

What a bunch of dinosaurs! How do they expect to find anything in a huge mound of paper? "Let me see now, is it this pile? Or this one perhaps? Tom, Dick, Harry - you take those pile over there and I'll search these ones".

If only that peksy Iain Dale didn't post so much - and as for his commenters...

I've always thought you would be an excellent MP...perhaps even as good as Boris Johnson ...Boris , if you recall , was subjected to trial by everything he had written since short trousers

You should do a few opposite posts just to scupper the whole stasi thing.

Go to Old Holborn and post 'I think Gordon brown has done a fantastic job as Prime minister.'
Nip over to Dave's Part and say you think homosexuality should be made illegal again.
Drop into Labourlist and praise Darling's sound grasp of economics and Ed Ball's sage handling of his department.

This could be a nice one for the papers thinking about it.
Daily Mail like big brother stories. Send them an email.

Could Labour have given your selection chances a helping hand?

Remember to expect snide low secret and underhand hints about you homosexuality. It is Labour we are dealing with remember.

Typical of their hopelesness that they should print it. You can search and electronic record.

I see you were mentioned by Alex Salmond on FMQs today Iain. Fame at last in Scotland!

Sorry, spotted typo as it went off. I meant, 'You can search AN electronic record.' (It'll get printed, too, hope it puzzles them.)

I was told the Tories did a trawl through my blog me when it was thought I might be the Lib Dem candidate in Norwich North.

Nice story.

I guess that is a risk that goes with the territory of blogging.

However my experience of Labour is that they're just not that organised to use it effectively, my experience of Guido is that no real Labour "insider" would give him the time of day and finally alas my experience of Mr Dale's lack of gravitas suggests anyway that he isn't going to be selectable any time soon.

We really don't need another Mad Nad type knocking about the Palace.
