I have added a Google Search box a few inches down the left hand column so you can now search the site properly for the first time. I've also added a Google AdSense facility.
I don't really like the look of Google Ads but Tim Worstall reckons I could make a good few hundred pounds a month from them, so why the hell not! I have to keep young Gio in dog biscuits, after all. I should say that I take no responsibility for what appears in that box... I suspect a lot of adverts for Ming Campbell underwear will emerge...
Your dog could become very fat.....
Please do keep us informed on what you spend the money on!
Gio is a little cutie!
I've seen you on the telly. Don't you do some sort of cookery programme ?
It's funny how certain dogs look like their owners.... or is it the other way round?
Jack Russells are lovely dogs. I had one once, Leo by name and nature, until he dived out of a - quite high and small - open window one day after a bitch on heat. He was sadly run over and killed running across a busy road before I could catch up with him. Heart breaking. So take care to keep Gio away from roads, Iain, male JWs tend to be sex mad and have no sense of self preservation when courting.
Woops, meant male JRs, not JWs.
ALERT for folks with pets. You may already be aware of this, but if not, a pet food company in the US, Menu Foods, is recalling cans and pouches, including IAMBS and Eukanuba because its products are causing renal failure and death. So far, dozens of pets have died suddenly.
This company is also a supplier of pet foods to Proctor & Gamble.
I don't know if any of these foods are sold under different product names in Britain, but you'd better check. Sixty million cans and pouches have been pulled off supermarket shelves all over the US and Canada.
This has been going on for several days now, with more previously healthy cats and dogs dying suddenly. I hope it's not relevant to British pets. It's just awful! Healthy dogs and cats giving up eating and dying of kidney failure.
Verity: have been doing a bit of googling on this, and it seems that the products affected are 'wet' foil pouches and cans, and only those distributed in the USA, Canada and Mexico. The dry IAMS and Eukanuba products -- which are also sold in Britain under those names -- are said to be safe; though there is an awful lot of stuff from animal rights organisations about the way in which they are made and tested.
There is a list of recalled products at this cumbersomely long URL. Uncertain whether it will get through intact.
Ralph - Thanks. I had already been to the company's website and checked the list, but thank you anyway. Another of their products is Science Diet.
The CEO of the company seems to be genuinely distressed. They've traced the offending agent to a chemical used in an anti-cancer drug and rat poison. They recently changed suppliers of gluten, and they think it may have come in in that.
What incredibly complicated world we live in!
What a great looking JR. I have one of those little nutcases and two other, rather saner, terriers. You are quite right about the price of dog biscuits.
Where are these ads supposed to be on the page?
With Firefox and the add-ins No Script (to give control over Java Script) and Adblock or AdblockPlus (to prevent the display of adverts or any other objectionable pictures) I see no difference!
