This is the Worst Blog in Britain Say Labour Bloggers

I'm told Bloggers4Labour have voted this blog as the Worst Blog in Britain or something like that. I accept the award with pride and treat it as an accolade. Guido will be jealous.

badge of honour-put it on your candidate CV!

WOW!

Praise indeed!

Anonymous said...

That certainly is quite an honour. All of Tory blogdom is green with envy!

Dare I ask what they consider to be the best Labour blog. Should provide an interesting comparison.

Anonymous said...

Lucky you! You'll be the envy of the international blogosphere!

Anonymous said...

you get my vote Iain!

They even have a tracker on how much they "hate" you on hatemytory.com; you are in proud company.

Actually it is really quite fun to see which conservatives most annoy labourites.

Says lot about the defensive and negative state of mind of the labour party today.

Councillor Terry Kelly, Don Paskini and Helen Watters blogs are far worse.

Anonymous said...

Like everything in life Labour just got it the wrong way round.Congrats!

Anonymous said...

I guess I'll need to try harder...

Anonymous said...

Honest, funny, and not always on message makes you the worst blogger!

Those lemmings in the Labour blogsphere just don't get this blogging lark do they?

Don't go for a walk in the woods this week-end Iain.

So what if a bunch of former-socialists have a chart of former-conservative bloggers that they don't much like. This is just indicative of how politics has degenerated into my-willie-is-bigger-than-yours tribalism now that there is less than a fag-paper's width between the policies of all the main parties.

Anonymous said...

Isn't it funny how all these supposedly caring sharing socialists tend to be riddled with hate?
Im no fan of cuddly Dave and would much prefer to nail my dick to the forehead of Simon Heffer rather than vote for any party led by Cameron, but we conservatives really are the ones who want to see everybody do as well as they possibly can.

They hate you, well they are just lurve me!!!!

Anonymous said...

Well done!
Still, you have to admit that B4L is one of the most hilarious around. Their continuing parody of socialist discussion, where all participants have to stay in character (meant to be Fred Kite, I think) is most entertaining. Must take hours of practice to get it right.

Bloggers4Labour? I pity them, it must be hard blogging kind words for Blair and Hoon, to offer support for Bush and Cheney or to tell us what John Prescott actually does that's useful, or why ID cards are a good idea.

As for Hatemytory.com, is that for real? A clear sign that they're running scared of the Conservatives and trying to shore up their core supporters who are sick of supporting George Bush's lunacy.

Another stunning yawn from tejus ramakrishnan.

You should put a hate tracker graphic in your sidebar. Hostility is awesome for hits!

Anonymous said...

Just remember that we anonymii are still plotting to take over the entire blogosphere and establish dominance over the published universe. You'll be first up against the wall, Citizen Dale.

PS just joking! Honest.

Verity

We're all boring from time to time. You certainly are. But it's unkind and bad mannered to mention such things.

Anonymous said...

bebopper - You say that it's bad mannered to "mention such things". What makes you think I'm interested in your definition of manners?

Anonymous said...

What a 'kindam awful looking blog Bloggers4lies have, or is it just me and IE6?

Anonymous said...

Iain,

Towcestrian says that politics is degenerating into 'my-willie-is-bigger -than-yours tribalism'. I am not very, how can I put this, very well endowed.

Is there still a place for me in the new, inclusive Conservative Party ?

verity - you may not realise this, but in Britain, ill-mannered, facile remarks imported from across the pond, such as:-

'Which part of no don't you understand'...

'You're confusing me with someone who gives a..'

'What makes you think I'm interested in....'

'Talk to the hand, because the face ain't listening...'

'So. Totally. Awesome.Whatever etc.'

and so on are simply seen as signs of a limited intellect. They are seen as signs of the 'Utter bloody rudeness of everyday life' [Lynne Truss]. If you think these phrases are impressing anyone, go over to Guido's site, or better still go to a 'chain' pub full of 'chavs' in one of our grimmer northern towns. I'm sure you will be more than welcome.

Anonymous said...

Iain, I don't think Guido will be jealous. He will be scared stiff that the rudeness of his site, the amount of ill-informed speculation and the presence of 'posters' with names like 'little black $amb*' are going to ruin his credibility.

If he is not careful, he will have given John 'The Heid' Reid plenty of ammunition to comprehensively trash his reputation, if he did 'break' a big news story. Though these days that seems increasingly unlikely..

Anonymous said...

I agree with with anonymous 2.21pm, they have obviopusly got it the wrong way around. Praguetory, they were Labour blogs, well almost all of them.
As for Guido, good nick shame about the blog!

Curly said...

Have they gone mad? It would be more in keeping if they voted themselves top of the list!

Anonymous said...

Worried of Bath: just relax. Let it all hang out. Tosser will have need of you. After all, as Maggie said, every Prime Minister needs a willie.

Anonymous said...

Incidentally, Iain, if you are to redeem your blog's terrible reputation as the Worst Ever then you'll need to come up with something really spectacular. We devotees eagerly await a photo of Peter Hitchens nailing his dick to Simon Heffer's forehead. The ultimate in civil partnerships. Nothing less will suffice.

Anonymous 8:23 - As it happens I don't use any of the phrases you refer to - they are stale and dated - although they seem to have tripped off your fingertips with ready familiarity.

Oscar Wilde defined a gentleman as one who was never rude unintentionally. Meditate on it.

[verity] Anonymous 8:23 - As it happens I don't use any of the phrases you refer to - they are stale and dated

Hmm..I note that you don't add 'rude' - I rest my case..

Anonymous said...

I think you'll find it was Swift, actually, but that's not to say Oscar didn't steal it from him.

Anonymous said...

[verity] Oscar Wilde defined a gentleman as one who was never rude unintentionally. Meditate on it.

As an impartial observer, isn't this meant to be an injunction to be very careful NOT to be rude by accident, rather than suggesting one should be intentionally rude as often as verity?

Many years ago I read a fantastic book by Stephen Pile called 'The Book of Heroic Failures'. This is a book which simply could only have been published in Britain. Truly laugh-out-loud funny.

Mr Pile's 'thesis' was that success is illusory, and surrounded by acres of failure which is far more interesting.

In that spirit, and it is Christmas, perhaps we could find examples of blogs which are 'heroic failures' ?

Anonymous said...

Anonymous/Anonymi, it's not my blog so I can't tell you to go away, but you are the last word in pedantry. Stop trying to twist my words so you can score a point. You are rather obsessive.

Anonymous 10:05 says, "I rest my case." Please, please, please rest your case and sit down. I think a quote from Dr Johnson would fit well here.

Raincoaster - was it really Swift? Then James Whistler was totally justified when he said, "You will, Oscar, you will". How interesting! I will ascribe the quote correctly from now on.

Another stunning yawn from verity.

Waiting for verity's reply. Never lets anyone get a last word....
