Strictly Ann Widdecombe in Clacton

Just thought I'd tip off my Essex and Suffolk readers that I will be hosting another Audience With Ann Widdecombe at the Princes Theatre in Clacton on Sea on Monday November 29th. It's hosted by the Clacton Arts & Literature Society and tickets are £8 on the night. From their website it doesn't look as if you can pre-book.

I have an awful feeling we're going to have to alter our tried and tested opening routine to include some sort of dancing. You probably didn't think there was a worse dancer in the country than Ann. But I can assure you there is....

Its not the End of the Pier show is it?

More of the 'nice boy chats with slapper' show.

Iain Dale, you are incorrigible:-). You may complain about having to widen the range of the show to include dancing, but you're not above using Strictly in the title to pull punters in, I see.

Anyway, I have plugged it on my Strictly blog here: http://strictlysequinsandsparkles.blogspot.com/2010/10/ann-widdecombe-appearing-in-clacton-on.html

Ann Widdecombe must be doing a UK tour of sorts - not so long ago I saw an ad for an arts festival event, in Shropshire I think, which featured the headline "An Evening With Tony Benn" and an announcement underneath, saying the old sage had been forced to drop out at the last minute, to be replaced by... Ann Widdecombe. I wonder what the punters expecting the original would have made of the event.

Jason, Ann and I have been doing these evenings for about 8 years now.

That sounds more like a grande tour.

Iain, apologies if I have missed a visit on an earlier occasion but any prospect of the show coming to N Ireland?

I'm sure we'd love to but we can only do so if a local theatre invites us!
