Coming Tomorrow: The 1970 BBC Election Night Programme
Just to tip you off, tomorrow from 9am, BBC Parliament will be showing a rerun of the 1970 election night programme.
If I recall correctly this is the one that includes a lovely segment outside the Oxford Union with an offensively young Gyles Brandwreth and a Labour opponent who is even more plumby. (not so proleier than thou back then!).
Unless I dreamed it, a guy standing with them is smoking a roll up. I remember wondering if it was a spliff or tobacco and had my suspicions confirned when the guy drops it and replaces it with a straight cigarette!

C'mon Ed Heath and Anthony Barber!!!
Iain,

Those were the days.
Good grief! What sad folk have nothing better to do on a Saturday than watch this? Beggars belief.
And yet you have the time to comment on it Terry
