Tonight I will be presenting a three hour phone in show on LBC 97.3 (and DAB throughout the country), standing in for Petrie Hosken from 7.15-10pm. It's my debut on the station, so keep your fingers crossed for me. It won't be quite as loose and radical as my Play Radio Show was, but we'll be talking about the hot issues of the day and from 8-9 we have the weekly 'Parliament' slot with political representatives from the three parties.
UPDATE: Just to give you an update on the PlayRadio Show. I am told that the station has gone into administration, so I am afraid it won't be returning. A great shame as it will a hugely innovative station.
If you have time to listen on 97.3 FM, you'd be very welcome indeed, and do feel free to call in on 0845 60 60 973 or text 84850. You can also listen on the LBC website HERE.
UPDATE: From 7.15 to 8 we'll be asking "What's the point of the Liberal Democrats?" I'll be talking to Mike Smithson and taking calls from listeners
From 8-9 it's the Parliament Panel with guests James Brokenshire MP, Will Straw and Baroness Sarah Ludford MEP. Subjects include the LibDem Conference, Gordon Brown's award, Baroness Scotland and much else.
From 9-10 we'll be talking about assisted suicide. I'll be interviewing MS sufferer Debbie Purdy, the woman whose legal case brought about a clarification of the law.And at 10pm I shall either feel very depressed or slightly euphoric...

its not three hours its two and three quarter hours.
good luck Iain
I won't be able to tune in , there are so many radio stations I can't find down here, never mind the lack of mobile phone coverage and the very pathetic slow broadband .
I have just heard that there is going to be a broadband tax- if you have a landline- 50p per month, so that is another stealth tax for a very useless slow service in every way possible!
Countryside living has many disadvantages I think, what is 'dab' - A small flatfish?
18 Doughty Street, Play Radio UK..
The curse of Dale strikes again...
True Belle, You can get LBC on Sky as. Channel 0124
True Belle, You can get it on Sky. Channel 0124.
Why don't you just do a pod cast? You can do whatever you want that way.
First time I've seen you on vid Iain [I'm an expat]. You come over as a decent and sorted guy. Bravo, and keep up the good work.
You're comment about 'DAB throughout the country' should have said 'DAB in patches throughout the country'. Don't bother tuning in if your in a car as even if you can find it at the beginning of your journey, you'll probably be out of signal range by the end of it.
We should follow the Somalia model for managing spectrum space. That is, because they're no government there's no government to mess it up. Despite all their other problems, they have the some of the best mobile and radio coverage in the world. The market sorts itself out. We should let it do the same with radio in this country.
I will be tuning in iain. Finally we get to hear you at a reasonable hour. Your last show was on too late.
Iain. hope you saw Tory Bear's disinfecting parliament blog piece?
Also Trueblueblood has a great article on Tory strategy and not letting Broon steal our clothes.
Exciting times in blog world.
Will speak later on your show
"the three parties" ?
what about the party that came second in the election to the parliament that makes 80%+ of our laws....
really Iain, you should keep up with these things.
Good luck with it, unfortunately will be watching Man United vs Wolves but hopefully will catch a podcast of it.
What's the point of Libdem's? It provides a political home for the socks and sandals brigade. No other bugger wants them!
Good Luck!
Just about to tune in: live and direct!
But Iain, why do so many ventures you go near end up bust?
Hope the show goes well, Iain.
I will listen and may try to call. Shame there are so many guests, I would like them to give you a show with bags of time to talk to callers.

Just a quick question. Anybody know where Radio Caroline and Radio Luxembourg are now on the dial? I can't seem to find them anywhere - particularly on DAB.
Very very saddened to hear that the Conservative party agree with cutting back on Trident. This can only be done once, after that we hold NO cards.
I can no longer vote Conservative.
Am listening to your LBC show, Iain. On the basis of this (in particular the Parliamentary Panel) I think you should be considered for Simon Mayo's Radio 5 Live slot !
You did well; you are far better at this than being a Conservative PPC.
Good luck, Iain.
One of my favourite stations! Nick Abbot is fantastic.
Why did you allow them to use the phrase 'climate change deniers'?
No one denies that climate changes, it's changed every time I open my front door. Make them say 'man made global warming deniers'. They will soon shut up then.
I am listening on line to Iain on the radio - a Eureka moment for me , what a brilliant idea, and a very clever link ,thank you.
The subject discussed at the moment is being sensitively handled. Very difficult, but the Hippocratic oath was laid down in society for civilised ethical reasons .
Not available on DAB here in Berkshire. ( see postcode checker ).
So much for that technology... So listening online.
....That annoying DVLA advert. What a waste of money!
ARGH, I MISSED IT! I just remembered now. Infuriating. Please do link to an mp3 if there is one.
Hope it has gone well. I was on LBC, doing just that (either producing or occasionally presenting), about 30 years ago, when an unknown called Jeremy Beadle did his show after me. In those days, Bob Holness did the morning show and Vivian White was the political editor. It was in the grip of tyrannical unions then, and the programmes could and did stop if an engineer walked out. Thank God for Thatcher. Is it still in Gough Square?
No comment from Iain on this blog about Cameron's attack on Thatcher???
Really enjoyable and extremely polished. Thought your callers asked good question and it flowed well. I couldn't work out whether to listen to your show or our beloved Prime Minister. After 2 minutes of Gordon I thought - well I;ve heard all THAT before and went back to the Dale show for something a bit more lively.... (!) Thought Nadine very good as well on a difficult topic.
By the way, a random comment but TV coverage of the United Nations has placed the spotlight on Obama, Qadhafi and Brown. My top pick so far has been Sarkozy. His speech was eloquent, clear and extremely well-judged (and he had the courtesy to stick to his 15 minutes). His use of language is quite beautiful.
'Le monde va changer. Il ne peut en etre autrement. La conscience universelle appelle ce changement'
(Roughly. 'The world will change. It can't be otherwise. Our universal conscience calls for such a change'. But it sounds far, far better in French)
Perhaps a good challenge for the blog to listen to some of the other speeches. Sweden, Monaco, South Africa and Uganda are on my list.
