Moving Foreword With Liam Byrne

Quite a poor show from Liam Byrne and his officials. Today’s Cabinet Office Strategy Unit paper on Social Mobility lists a “Ministerial Forward” on pages 2 & 3.

You would have thought they could have managed to get the spelling right before publishing.

UPDATE: Glad to see this blog's influence extends to Mr Byrne's office and that the documentr has now been corrected.

Poor show !!!!!

I see Cameron is still adhering to the media policy I unveiled last week.. Namely the Monday/Friday stategy…Not working is it...Thats POOR

People in the BBC are paid too much apparently Does this include Bonkers Boris’s many TV appearences on Have I got news for you. And I wonder how much Clarkson ( Tories favourite ) is also paid..nearly as much as Ross I believe – but we don’t mention that do we Tory boys and Girls. Throwing the baby out with the bath water

I think this is possibly less a 'spelling' problem as one brought up by the vapid and facile use of 'action' language to sex-up dull as ditchwater papers..

Badging them up with 'Facing the Future' or 'Fighting the Flab' or similar tosh might lead to someone thinking that it was this kind of 'marketing speak' which was required in this instance..

You're lucky he put the t in Ministerial. He annoys me with his Bri-in for Britain. Like Milliband come to think of it.
Good school system we had, eh?

I have to confess; I never realised it was spelt with an "e". Just never noticed.

And I have a degree.

Back from when they were still worth something.

Your post contains three grammatical errors in addition to three missing full stops. That's poor. The substance (no more than speculation) is not up to much either.

Apparently, the paper was commissioned by the "Prime Minster".

Presumably the prime Minster is York. Is this an ecclesiastical matter?

Liam Byrne seems to think he's a Minster. He certainly doesn't ring my bells.

Looks like the only people reading your blog at the moment is Dolly Draper. Funny how your remarks about ignorance in our government is suddenly turned into an attack on Cameron based on nothing at all.

Clarkson is reputed to earn £2 million a year for Top Gear.
Thats £4 million p.a. LESS than Ross. So much for 'nearly' as much, Mr anonimouse.

I doubt that Clarkson is bothered what you think. He can always go to another channel with his successful TV programme.

The entire paper is trite tosh - no new conclusions, no firm statistical basis, poor logic, few valid conclusions, lots of buzzwords.
What it does reveal is that people of very limited ability who have ambitions of upward mobility might do well to become Labour Party activists - they may even become the ruler of the Queen's Navee.

With a glossy slap like that you wonder that they didn't say: 'Ministerial Forehead"

He looks like Kinnock's less able younger brother, which doesn't bode well.

Apparently this lot "called" the 2004 election before most.

If you've got some money on Obama, I'd put some brown trousers on if I were you.

Isn't this using tax payers money for Labour party electioneering ?

It's all the Romans fault, them an' their bleedin' Latin, innit?

Spelin aint important in socialist utopia, any fule CiF contributor will tell you that.

Further to Mr Clarkson and salary... I believe that "Top Gear" is BBC's most successful "export" - it's sold all over the world and makes a substantial profit. Therefore one must assume that "Jezza's" salary is money well spent. Unlike a lot of the rest at the beeb.
