There's Only Two Alan Pardishleys...

I'm sitting in the Dr Martens Stand at Upton Park wondering the ghost of Alan Pardew which seems to be pervading Upton Park today. He gave a very gracious interview to Sky earlier in which he said he hoped one day to be able to manage the Hammers again.

Anyway, it' Alan Curbishley's time now. He has hardly changed the team but has dropped Carlos Tevez for Harewood. Mascherano doesn't get a look in again.

Most people don't give us a chance this afternoon against Man U, who are at full strength. Even a point would be a result for us - and a goal would nice!

I expect to be chanting in a few minutes "One Alan Pardew, there's only one Alan Pardew..." followed immediately by "Alan Curbishley's claret and blue army!" Fickle? Moi?

UPDATE: Oh joy, oh happy day. We haven't beaten Manchester United ever in the Premiership. It was a fantastic game today. Not a single player put in a weak performance. If only they had done the same for Alan Pardew. Lee Bowyer was particularly outstanding, as were all four defenders.

Something tells me WHU will surprise today. Very good or very bad. At least two hoping for former - you and Jose. Enjoy.

I would say Iain, that you are only displaying the amount of fickleness that Blair is showing to his tennis partner, Lord Levy.
Et tu Brute springs to mind ?

Nothing new there then, Iain. One minute it's David Davis Royal Blue Army.... next thing up Cameroonies Rule OK.

Being flexible I think theu call it.... or adapting to the new reality.

Hey Iain - can I be the first to congratulate you on a great result? I'm not a Hammers fan but I've always had a soft spot for them and the fans deserve a morale boost.

Crikey ! Crikey ! Crikey !

There's a turn up for the books...

I'm sick as a parrot etc. etc.

Come along now Iain, surely Curbishley deserves some credit if he can nick 3 points off the leaders ?

Off course, Man Utd wanted this as they would like the second half of the season to be 'more exciting'...

Was at the game but have to say Bowyer looked the weakest of our lot.

Bowyer was amazing, just as the other 10 players were. Mid table here we come!

We beat Man Utd 1-0 at Old Trafford in December 2001. Also beat them in the Cup that year.

Houndtang, I should have said "at home". I was there in December 2001 for the 1-0 victory so I have very fond memories of that day I can assure you!!!

Please don't ever praise Lee Bowyer, he is without grace. Maybe he can play well but that does not excuse him as a human being. He has had plenty of chances too, he has more convictions than 98% of the country!
