Poll: Right Wing Blogger of the Year

You can now vote for your Right Wing blogger of the year. On the assumption you would have all voted for this blog out of politeness, I haven't included it in the list! These are the blogs I look at most.

Well, I voted for Cranmer, being myself of a religious persuasion, and thus being a daily reader of his august and erudite blog! (In fact, I suspect that my position as his tenth most popular referrer is purely a result of my own regular clicks to his site from my own!) I also regularly check the humble Devil's blog (know thine enemy, for indeed the devil himself disguises himself as an angel of light) and pay the occasional visit to Boris's blurg too.
Sorry, Guido, you may have the stats on your side, but I no longer have much respect for a blog the whole purpose of which is simply to sneer from on high at the political classes, as if you're somehow any better. "Those who live by the sword shall die by the sword" - remember that. Gossip and cheap, finger-pointing tittle-tattle is not my thing, I'd rather engage in intelligent debate. Each to his own, I suppose.
Iain, had your own blog been on the list, my vote would have been a close-run thing between yours and Cranmer's. That's my tuppence'worth!

I am going to put my foot in it here, I did not realise that Guido's is a Right Wing blog, I thought it was New Labour. Elle is very good, and she posts on mine which is a big plus. In the death, with a nod and a wink, I pressed the green button for the Fink.

Interesting. I think that mine is a close-run thing between Timmy Worstall, Burning Our Money and EU Referendum; this is simply because those blogs work hard to produce well-reasoned and backed-up evidence on which to base evidence for my rants. They are, if you like, my reference blogs...

Flattered to find my good self on your list though...

When people start giving Guido "respect" it will be time to close the blog.

Sorry Iain , you just have a weary feeling that you are taken for granted and I am going to add to it . I will be voting for Croydonian , each of the places I visit has its different charm and I am something of a gauche parvenue but thus far he is head and shoulders above the rest. I only wish I had more votes Allow me to lob out some Swinburnian praise to my favourites.

Chris Whiteside : For the serious thinking incisive writing and a real involvement in grown up politics he takes the palm for me . How I rage that his progress into parliament has not been supported in the way many other far less worthy candidates have. A list

Tapestrty: Again and again he pours good sense on the boiling waters of pea cocking disingenuous right wingery . Like Iain himself he knows he only way to get to where we need to be is by supporting David Cameron . I am delighted to read the ICM Guardian Poll to day as I `m sure we all are . There is still much to be done however as an alliance with either the Libs or , god forbid, the Greens will hem Cameron in as he seeks to move the centre rightwards.

A touchstone of commonsense.

With boundary changes looming and the lack of any real mandate for Da Broon I foresee an early election . Time to grow up and get your rosettes out for all who like me, are on the right of the party.

Boris – Yes its a provincial debating society but what a good one . Not really a blog but has some of the best writers in it . Best of all Idlex.

Cramner – The most elegant blogger and with perhaps the most erudite contributors who get space and civility in this magnificent confection. Like much he would admire it seems overly ornate , , outdated , it shouldn’t work …..and yet it does and so we must defend it . I admire the sort of Conservative who wishes to conserve more and more

Praguetory – As he said , Blogging is a means not an end . A committed Conservative whose command of his material is awe inspiring. Also a nice chap and apart form anything else decent boxer so good to have him on our side.

Croydonian – I notice his visits have reached a record high and that can be put down to his superb digging , snide humour and genuine warmth for his posters . To anyone who has not got the Croydonian habit allow me to recommend that you acquire it . In the past week he has been ahead of everyone on four or five occasions and always nails the story with a few gags for good measure. All in all IMHO the best .

Major contributors include “Queen of Spleen “ the unrivalled Verity and Peter Hitchens whose posts range from vitriolic through hysterical , via outrage to plain right.

The worst blog will of course belong to “Eugene “( Be careful …..) whose continued presence , not to say health, depresses many of us .

Happy Christmas to all and ( Oooo I forgot Ellee is fabulous , a bit wet poltically for me but an education with charm to visit .!! )

Fascinating! I too voted for Cranmer and eschewed Guido for similar reasons to Tom Tyler.

I used to think the Devil was witty and ironic but his rants of late have become obscured by apopleptic refrains of the "c" word, repeated ad nauseum. Perhaps the warmer climate and the poofy southern food will soften him up.

These polls are great fun Iain and the fun is voting before you know who is winning. I wonder if people "peek"?

Of course, had you been on the list it would have been a walkover for the 'Diary.

Yes, I must declare myself for Croydon's favourite son. One of the few blogs worth following on a regular basis. He delivers the goods. And continues to go from strength to strength. I also must confess to being a convert to the Devil and all his works. Although his Ukipish persuasion leaves me cold.

my blog of the year goes to jennytc 'demob happy teacher' - for its inclusion of her 'novel' which is in no way autobiographical kids...

Where's the Serf!

Close run thing between the Devil, Tim W and BoM. BoM just got it, but the others deserve their Crackerjack pencils.

There seems to be quite a lot of Conservative blogs on there. I didn't think you guys did right-wing politics any more?

It took me a while to get the message through ole DK's effing and blinding. For energy, effort, research and unreserved commitment the Edinburgh ranter has much of value to say. DK gets my vote. Sorry not to see Mr E in the list. Compliments to all those listed. And a big thank to all. Particularly Our Iain.

samtrev: Melanie Fibs? No way, hose!

Guido: Respect, man, deepest respect.

Melanie Philips is poisonous. Her ranting on Question TIme whenever she is on is distasteful. I wonder if she ever smiles about things because they are not rather than grinning when someone suffers misfortune ?

Iain, all the links go through to Cabinet Minister of the Year, have you taken the right wing blog poll down?

Anonymous said...

Croydonian and Prague Tory should jointly share the honour; if Iain and Guido are not competing!
