He's be more interesting than Ming Campbell.

As an ardent supporter of Mr Thurso (and, since yesterday morning, a Lib Dem) I found that utterly hilarious. Thanks for posting the link.

Campbell is interesting - is he on the left or the right? I've listened to him so often and I haven't the foggiest. That Laws and Cable are amongst his strongest supporters makes me think right but then he does occassionally have lefty moments.

I think the point with Campbell - and why a contest is so vital for the Lib Dem members - is that it's not known where he stands on so many issues.

We've all heard him speak about foreign affairs or on issules like law and order. But what does he think about education? Or the Health Service? Or tax levels?
