Example of LibDem Backstabbing No 94

Thanks to Yellow Peril for this little nugget on the odious new LibDem MP Lynne Featherstone. She gave an excruciating performance on Question Time a few weeks ago.

Once upon a time Lynne Featherstone and Sarah Kennedy were the very best of friends:

"Sarah Kennedy (wife of Charles) came over to have a look at City Hall, have lunch with me and catch up on things. We knew each other when Charles was just a glint in her eye. As the news of her pregnancy had just been announced - there was much to talk about and not much of it about politics! She is just such an excellent partner for him - with a good sense of balance between her own life and support for his. He is one lucky man."

But now Lynne is leading the attack on Kennedy. Following his statement yesterday...

"I think it has all gone too far to save him. And I myself, no longer feel inspired to support him. I feel let down because he has had previous opportunities to set the record straight privately and publicly. And the discontent in the parliamentary party is not just about the possible (and now confirmed) alcohol problem but also about the vision and drive which the party needs to make even more progress at the next election."

Yellow Peril describes Featherstone as: "Just another politician putting personal ambition ahead of friendship. Nothing new there, but just remember it next time the Lib Dems lecture us on how they are purer than pure." I couldn't have put it better myself.
