Shadow Cabinet Media Tarts for June

Each month I track the number of media mentions for each member of the Shadow Cabinet through Lexis Nexis with the help of Julian Nicholson. Obviously you cannot judge the performance of someone purely on the number of press mentions they get, but it is an increasingly big part of any politician's job.

This month we have included the three senior LibDems. It's interesting to note that Ming Campbell get a third of the coverage of David Cameron, with similar figures for Nick Clegg compared to David Davis. Vince Cable had a pathetic 17 mentions in the media in June.

1 (-)David Cameron1945
2 (+2)William Hague 399

We have to take into consideration that it is always better to be a tart than a trifle :>D

I've just posted the following post on Guido. Within 10 minutes he has deleted it and stopped anonymos comment on his blog. SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TORIES IN FREEFALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The latest two polls have a Labour majority of 70 in one and 90 in the other.

Staines, remember Piers, Alan B'Stard's sidekick - that's you that is.

If there is anyone who finds this far-fetched, have a look at his miserable (non)appearance on Newsnight - v.v.funny.

It's only when you actually read a list of the tory shadow cabinet like this that you realise just how weak they are.

As many of the Ming comments are Minging Cable may be in the box seat there.

This also goes for the Tories. Some of these mentions are overwhelmingly negative. And many of them will have included mention of the erstwhile back bencher Quentin Davies.

iain, could you ask the advertisers against the ban on offensive images (top left for me) to tone down their images - not exactly work safe, offensive images might be alright for private consumption, but perhaps not on a political blog...

"Each month I track the number of media mentions for each member of the Shadow Cabinet"

Have you considered rehab?

Is it because they are weak? Or is it because Cameron despite his talk about decentralization won't allow them to talk?

You are still running this specious and facile 'survey' ! Time that this went the way of the 'Gordaq' feature on Newsnight, I think...

Ian, how many times do you appear on Lexus?

Come on, don't tell me you didn't look?

Adrian, It's not me that has access to it,so I have no idea what my score is. Although I suspect it is higher than Vince Cable!

Iain, it is probably higher than DC as well!
