Acts of Bravery

Next week I'm attending the opening of the gallery at the Imperial War Museum which will house Michael Ashcroft's collection of Victoria Crosses, which go on public view for the first time. I've seen part of the collection before and it is truly astonishing, especially when you read about the feats of bravery associated with each VC. This three minute film for Telegraph TV introduces the collection.

Indeed - I have read some citations on display (I think) at Edinburgh Castle. Awesome.

Mr. Dale,

I enjoy reading your blog. A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of having a conversation with Lord Ashcroft without knowing who he was. He impressed me as a very down-to-earth and likeable man. He deserves more praise for his philanthropic and cultural pursuits. Without him, a lot of us may never know of the extraordinary individuals like those showcased in his collection. I hope it will be a huge success.
