I've just been called by a friend who's in Romano Prodi's campaign team. He says that the Prodi people think they're 5.5 points ahead on a 52% turnout. Apparently the turnout in leftish areas is very high. Polling stations are also open tomorrow from 7am until 3pm, but it looks like curtains for Tony Blair's best friend, Silvio Berlusconi. I suspect things look pretty grim in the Tessa Jowell/David Mills household(s) tonight...

Lets be honest, who would have voted for Berlusconi. I would have. Just look at the manifestos.
