Geoffrey Robinson has been hitting out at Peugeot over its plans to shut the Ryton plant where many of his constituents work. “We are entitled to an explanation,” he trumpets. “We will support the unions if they have been given assurances and been ratted on.” Is this the same Geoffrey Robinson who was chairman of TransTec which collapsed with £100 million of debts, putting hundreds of people out of work? I think we should be told.
