Prescott Leaves His Constituents in the Hands of His...Er...Secretary

A sure sign of a politician who knows he's in deep do-do is when he cancels his constituency surgery. Constituents leaving John Prescott's monthly surgery this morning said they had been told he was not coming today. More than a dozen people turned up at the East Hull Labour Party offices where the Deputy Prime Minister holds his surgeries on the last Saturday of every month. Those leaving the building said their cases had been dealt with by a secretary. "Not that one,'' one elderly man quipped. Perhaps Mr Prescott's former PA Simon Buckby was lending a hand or even his former long-serving constituency aide Rosie Winterton was helping out an old friend in need. No, he's still busy selling out our country running Britain in Europe (or did he resign?) and she's far too busy caring for the nation's health, so perhaps "not that one" either. A notice in the window of the office, which has been there for sometime, explained how surgeries "may be cancelled at short notice due to monkey government business''.
