Prince Harry

My PPC colleague David Davies (See link on the left), candidate in Monmouth wrote a good short piece on his new Blog yesterday.

People are right to want an apology from Prince Harry for his choice of fancy dress outfit. We should also have an apology from Mike O’Brien MP who recently wrote a shameless article for the Muslim News, urging its readers not to vote Conservative because Michael Howard, a Jew, could not be trusted to do anything for British Muslims. Harry is young, foolish and probably didn't know what he was doing, Mike O'Brien is a Government Minister and did.

Nuff said.

Of course Mike O'Brien said absolutely nothing of the sort. He simply questioned whether the Conservative Party under his leadership had policies which are in the interests of British muslims. David Davies and Liam Fox are being dangerously mischievous at the very least, and possibly libellous, in calling Mike O'Brien anti-semitic.

I hope you would denounce the Tory candidate in Blackburn who went around in her speaker car at the last election in muslim areas telling the voters that Jack Straw was a Jew. That really was anti-semitic.

I do not believe that last bit, but if it is true of course i would condemn it.

I know exactly what Mike O'Brien said and the implication was clear. He should be ashamed of himself.

I'm not a Jew and I'm not going to vote for the Conservatives (I'm well on the left politically), but I think that Mike O'Brien knew exactly what he was saying to the Muslim Weekly. Like the New Labour 'piggy poster' and especially the Fagin one, it's a nasty 'nudge-nudge, wink-wink' pointing to Michael Howard being a Jew, playing on the anti-Semitic sentiments that exist in Britain. New Labour should be ashamed of itself.
