To understand Brown, it is vital to understand his use of lies. I am told that, in the bunker, he’s forever talking about the need to ‘define your opponent’ – by which me means spreading falsehoods about them. (A statistical version of the smears which McBride was caught spreading). Brown apparently justifies it to himself on the grounds that the ends justify the means. Hence the “Labour will increase spending” lie: it forms one of his precious dividing lines. He argues (correctly) that the Tories are so useless at defending themselves, changing their defence so often, that the Labour line will win any media battle and sink into the voters’ mind if repeated often enough by ministers, when interviewed.
Andy Burnham didn't get off to a good start, did he? (see below). Read Fraser's whole blogpost HERE.
BOOM BOOM BOOM let me hear you say wayyyyyyyyyyyyy oooooooooooooo....................
Isn't it more important, and urgent, to use such a technique to destroy Nick Griffin before he does too much more damage ?
More people need to see this video:
It's Hain getting nailed by a LDV employee on Question Time last night. The man's words will kill Labour off. He told Hain:
"you may have forgotten us, but come the next Election, we will not forget you!"
I think people are more concerned about the fact that both unemployment, immigration and knife crime in the black community are spiralling out of control in this country while we have twenty unelected Cabinet members - including a de facto Prime Minister who has had to resign from Cabinet twice in the past decade over financial irregularites - than the leader of a political party who received 6.5% of the vote.
Peter Hain: what a corrupt, treacherous, Marxist little Oompa-Loompa he is. He deserves to lose his seat at the next election.
But, alas, he's only the second most idiotic, self-serving MP representing Wales: cf Lembit O'Prick.
Do you really need to expose Brown's lies? He is already completely discredited. Every one knows he is a liar and a bully. Manifested in his press conference, and just consolidated this view. Many many people now do not even listen to labour people, what's the point?
The man is an habitual
liar and a bully.
A great example to young people wishing to enter politics. Just lie and bully and you'll soon be at the top. But having said that the whole of Parliament is discredit too. Not there for the people they should be serving but just to make money for themselves, it couldn't be simpler!
Gordon Broon - The REAL McPoison.
Look at it this way, if they get into power again, either by being voted in or rigging the electoral system, than we will deserve them, and deserve all we get.
Gordon Brown is finished. New Labour is finished. The electorate have seen through him and his devalued government. I watched Question Time last night too and I agree with the comments posted by Daily Referendum and in particular when he quoted the LDV employee when said those immortal words "you may have forgotten us, but come the next Election, we will not forget you!" When the gravestone of new Labour is finally cemented down next year those words should be engraved upon it for all to read.
Yes, I saw that too; it was a remarkable moment . . . Hain looked absolutely shocked when this was said - it was as if he suddenly realised in a flash of elucidation, that Labour really are going to be annihilated at the General Election.
Brown's lies and dark heart... combined with:
Harman's vilification against the white male via positive discrimination... and causing a class, race and gender war with her so-called Equality Bill.
And so many unelected ministers, including a prime minister. Step forward Lord Mandy and Sir Alan.
I hope the Internet is used as a weapon to ensure Labour are booted out of power for a long time to come through genuinely elected servants of the public, the public being men and women treated equally, which is unfortunately missing in the Equality Bill. How ironic.
BREAKING NEWS --------BREAKING NEWS
BROWN TIGHTENS HIS GRIP
Gordon Brown is set to tighten his grip on Labour with a new steering committee called “Keep Gordon Brown” or KGB for short. Ministers with woosy names like Darling or Woolyass are to be replaced with hardliners such as Ed “Balls of Iron” Cooper, Andy Burn’em and Felix Dzherzhinsky. Lord Mandelson will take control of the party Whips but this is entirely a private matter.
The need for stronger party discipline came after a succession of cabinet resignations. Said one former Minister “ I was doshed up to the eyeballs, had a mega pension, did bugger all and could blame all my mistakes on Civil Servants and still it wasn’t enough to put up with the endless self-righteous droning. I’d sooner have Bono as my conjoint twin than go through all of that again”
The KGB has begun by demanding each cabinet member swear an oath of loyalty and that each minister leave a treasured item as hostage. “ They took Alan Johnson’s collection of red rubber bands, Douglas Alexander’s Boys Brigade bugle and Lord Adonis stick insect collection, thereby removing his chances of finding a mate. When they demanded Miliband’s spine it turned out he never had one “
Meanwhile the Prime Minister said “ I am just getting on with job of making sure I keep myself in a job”
Brown is discredited, but the Tories are totally disingenious. Read: Lisbon Treaty.
GB is right. It is a confidence thing. Get out there, get a policy out there and defend it. 10% cuts, if it is to be, needs to be got out there. Define what it is and defend it. Be confident in defending it. Money needs to be spent in the right area at the right time. Not huge amounts of money spent everywhere because that is easier. The right money in the right place at the right time. 10%? Some departments could manage 15% and there would be no noticable difference in output to the user. Define the arguement simply. Cuts have to be made, this is where they are going to be made. Labour are saying the same but not admitting it. Not GB, Labour. As shown on QT last night, Labour do not have the answer...yet..but give them time and they will work something out. Dont give them that time. This is who we are, this is what we believe in and this is how we are going to do it. Remember a party or person that throws sh1t around tends to be full of it.
the point fraser is making, but cant quite say, is the paper media can never be manipilated,as they were by nu libour, again.
they were lovedin with gongs and freebies.so they played labours game, and have played a part in our bancrupcy.
bloggers cut into the truth.
michael white knows this and it explaines why he hates ian.
i dont lie you lying bastards
i think gordon brown is a pretty cool guys. eh tells lies and doesnt afraid of anything.
The effectiveness of (deluded) Brown's 'beliefs'and Labour's method of government were truly reflected in recent poll results.
Conservatives that are presented with the question about their cuts should start their reply by saying:
Labour under Gordon Brown will say anything and smear anyone in an attempt to stay in power, the public do not believe a word he says. Both Labour and the Conservatives will fact a difficult choice following the next election...
our borrowing has gone off the scales--every time the PM says no labour cuts---the pound will bomb.
Brown has always been morally bankrupt without a scintilla of integrity. Show me a man who defines himself - 'moral compass', 'its the right thing to do', 'my father taught me...' and I will show you a morally venal perverter of the truth, a son who shames his father and a man who knows right from wrong but chooses wrong.
The trio of Brown/Blair/Mandelson have been shameful and shameless in their corrupting of the body politic. The evil they have done will live long after they are gone.
Sea Shanty Irish here:
Florida in June, in Jacksonville? Sound less like a vacation and more like a conviction!
Drink LOTS of ice water.
If the tories want an election so urgently wouldn't it be sensible to have some policies ?
can we have some please
Current JAX weather as of 12.40 pm EDT:
Temperature: 90 degrees F
Heat Index: 100 degrees F
BNrown is a big a liar as Blair - just not as good at it
Didn't an earlier version of Mandelson use the same techniques?
That is of course rather painful for those involved. One should not as a rule reveal one's secrets, since one does not know if and when one may need them again. The essential English leadership secret does not depend on particular intelligence. Rather, it depends on a remarkably stupid thick-headedness. The English follow the principle that when one lies, one should lie big, and stick to it. They keep up their lies, even at the risk of looking ridiculous.
* "Aus Churchills Lügenfabrik" ("Churchill's Lie Factory"), 12 January 1941, Die Zeit ohne Beispiel (Munich: Zentralverlag der NSDAP., 1941), pp. 364-369
* This and similar lines in Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf about what he claimed to be a strategem of Jewish lies using "the principle— which is quite true in itself — that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily," are often misquoted or paraphrased as: "The bigger the lie, the more it will be believed."
I can't see the difference between Labour and the BNP (of course Hayek showed Fascism and the Far Left share the same root). At Crewe and Nantwich, when their real nature came out,it was reverse snobbery and envy that they relied on.They have nothing else to offer.
I don't know whether you guys read Yahoos' Ian Dunt - but check this out - he compare Gordon Brown to Winston Churchill - I kid you not -
guys - all this stuff about Brown is self evidnet - so why have the Tories gone down 5%, and Labour have actually gone up in the latest poll? That is really very worrying.
Fraser Nelson is a tory that puts voters off.we need normal people like you Iain who sound normal.
Yes contrast and compare
…the amount of time it took to expose Brown lied in his first budget trumpeted as the "Gord Giveth" bonanza by the Sun. He used a number of facile tricks to turn a footling amount into £20 billion as detailed in peter Oborne`s excellent book . This was to fool the lefty faithful, whilst constrained by Conservative spending plans and it did for long enough . Only over years or so was it pieced together
The 7% cuts hidden on Darlings’ budget which used not dissimilar tricks but was rumbled in days by the IFS (All hail Robert Chote ) but more to the point that information was immediately available and Peter Hain got skewered on Question Time when he tried to use the Brown fiction.
Brown is a politician of another age and the treatment of his hidden cuts shows he no longer even understands the game .
Anonymous said "guys - all this stuff about Brown is self evidnet - so why have the Tories gone down 5%, and Labour have actually gone up in the latest poll? That is really very worrying."
It's the client state that Gordon built jumping into action. They're hearing their leader saying "if you vote in the Tories, you will all be getting sacked". People aren't going to vote to lose their jobs, are they?
This despite the fact the Tories don't have the guts to make the really big cuts in public spending that are needed.
Silent Hunter and Daily Referendum:
Another priceless moment on QT was when Ruth Lea confirmed that Gordon Brown is lying on his intentions re. spending cuts as Spellman had said.
Hain was devestated - his face was classic NuLabour. A mixture of denial and disbelief that anyone could challenge the words of the great ex-Chancellor Brown. The audience applauded: they KNOW the truth - that Brown is lying through his teeth.
The problem facing Cameron is that the Eurosceptic vote (UKIP in particular) took a lot of votes that might have been Tory. He needs to firm up his position re. the EU: a Referendum on the Lisbon ConstiTreaty should be guaranteed regardless of the state of ratification and there should be a clear plan of action if the vote is 'NO.'
The major danger to the Tories at the General Election is UKIP taking a significant proportion of Tory voters because the Conservative position on the EU is unclear and/or not sufficiently Eurosceptic.
McBride might be gone but the smears will not stop. Smearing political opponents in the most poisonous of ways is an old Liebore tactic.
However it might be that the electorate have just had enough of Broonie and his gangsters and no ammount of garbage they spout will make any diffeernece!
It wont stop them trying though!
Brown went on about candour all the way through his reshuffle speech.
He listed his female cabinet ministers when it was pointed out that it lacked women. However, he didn't mention Glenys Kinnock in that list, but pulled the Welsh rabbit out of the hat when somebody revealed Caroline Flint's resignation.
Not much evidence of candour there.
Brown also constantly bragged about his lack of arrogance, unconvincingly. Particularly as he has promised to change.
The Tories are so crap at being an opposition, and empty of sensible policies, that Labour may yet win the next election. It wouldn't take much for the voter to forgive Brown and give him another chance.
Thanks, Cameron. You really are crap.
he’s forever talking about the need to ‘define your opponent’ – by which me means spreading falsehoods about them.
Pot, Kettle, Black i'd say
He'll get away with it partly because no mainstream commenter will use the L word to his face.
Even you were using 'mendacity' not so long ago.
If only Cameron would break convention and use it at PMQ. He could then leave the chamber before he is thrown out and immediately hold a press conference. Other opposition MPs should do the same.
"I called him a liar because he was lying. Public confidence in Parliament will never be restored so long as MPs can publicly lie and get away with it."
One can dream.

It seems to me that the Tories will find that Government will be a poisoned chalice for them. I hate to think how many hidden man traps have been set for them by GB & PM Mandelson.
Best to wait for the IMF to do its stuff, before taking over I would think.
Gordon Brown is New Labour's answer to Bernard Madoff.
