The Truth Behind Labour's DIY PPB
Tory Bear and his friend Emily No Mates rip the p*** out of Labour's PPB, created by a Labour blogger in her bedroom. Good on her, but the only reason Labour showed it was because their finances are so shot to pieces that they will broadcast any old crap as long as it's free.
Tory Bear really is the bastard offspring of Boris and Guido, isn't he?

Surely it was famous Conservative Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain who stood up to fascism?
Along with the heroic Tory press?
Ha ha.
Who does he drink like?
Oh that was soooo funny , I watched that on Hopi Sen`s blog yesterday very nearly spontaneously combusted .To be fair they do have the NHS the only part of the post war settlement we still like but if you take a step back this is how it looks
No Labour Party- The country looks a bit more like the US
No Conservative Party- The country looks a lot like East Germany
By the way who is the fox ? Have her washed and brought to my tent immediately Dale , I have a bottle of absinthe on ice and a dab of Brut 33 behind the ears ...
Does anyone know why Eddie Izzard gets a writer credit?
Are Posh and Sporty here really the face you want to present? Fascinating stuff of course, I had hitherto been unware of the tories' commitment to women's suffrage, that the WW2 administration had been a conservative one, or that oddly enough the Representation of the People Act 1918 dates back to 1919.
Of course I'll have to concede that you may have evidence here of declining education standards.
Very Very Funny and mainly true.
Very Very Amusing and well acted
Very amusing, well acted and observed
Nice treatment by Tory Bear, amusing indeed. But be honest - made because Labour's PEB was strangely effective for a change. Good i'd say.
And labour was the first party to back votes for women and fight fascism. And Mandela would still be in jail under maggie, Obama probably fighting deportation. Bevin or Bevan, the point is surely the same?
Superb satire.
Rather the bastard offspring of Boris and Guido than of Nixon and Frankenstein's monster, with Baron Fumblebum as my one and only mate !
Alan Douglas
Now you say that Iain, the resemblance is astonishing. At first though I thought he was the child of Paul Merton but I think you're much nearer the sperm type.
"The only reason Labour showed it was because their finances are so shot to pieces".
No. Also because they are mendacious, deceitful bastards with no shame..
@ Aye We Can ! said...
"And Mandela would still be in jail under maggie, Obama probably fighting deportation."
Sigh, if only...
I would like to correct Aye We Can!
Firstly the view of the Labour party had only the tiniest possible impact on the final circumstances which led to the release of Nelson Mandela which occurred on 11th February 1990, whilst Thatcher was Prime Minister.
It was the views of the largest South African employers, the mines, supported by some Afrikaans church men that allowed Frederick de Klerk to overturn many years of entrenched prejudice.
Women were first given an age qualified vote in 1919 under a Liberal Government. The full vote was given under Stanley Baldwin in 1928, that being a Conservative Prime Minister.
Emmeline Pankhurst left the Labour Party and was a nominated Conservative candidate when she died suddenly.
Obama was never subject to deportation from the UK since he has never lived here so I cannot see why this non sequitur appears in your post.
And, it was the Communist Party under its various guises that took up cudgels against fascism, notably in Spain.
In the absence of anything worthwhile to say Labour falls back on outright lies.
Propaganda fail
Lloyd George was a Liberal who was Prime Minister, but it was a Coalition government in power at the time the Representation of the People Act 1918 became law.
Iain,
Silverfish produced the video. Don't know if money changed hands.
@ Newmania
"I have a bottle of absinthe on ice and a dab of Brut 33 behind the ears ..."
It's usually more effective if you do the reverse. Brut 33 with Old Spice chasers.
Works for me - total oblivion.
@ Aye We Can
"And labour was the first party to back votes for women and fight fascism."
And this is all good?
"And Mandela would still be in jail under maggie, Obama probably fighting deportation."
And this is all bad?
Discuss.
No, they haven't given up. They just don't give a rats arse for parliamentary democracy and never have. Now they know they are toast and the ashes of their failed policies are all around them they just can't be arsed to keep up the pretence by attending the House of Commons. Offer them attebdance money though, and they'll all be there.
Tories getting tough with Mussolini (Munich foreshadowed?):
"In the present unhappy dispute between Italy and Abyssinia where will be no wavering in the policy we have hitherto pursued. We shall take no action in isolation, but we shall be prepared faithfully to take our part in any collective action decided upon by the League and shared in by its Members. We shall endeavour to further any discussion which may offer the hope of a just and fair settlement, provided that it be within the framework of the League and acceptable to the three parties to the dispute - Italy, Abyssinia and the League itself. "
[G.E.Manifesto 1935]
Isn't this the video that an ordinary member of the Labour Party, canvassed to be shown? It is you know.
Undoubtedly, it was the ordinary man and woman of Labour who stood up to Moseley at Balcombe Street.
True, it was Winston who jailed British Nazis, but it was also true that Winston jailed, Archibald maule Ramsay(TORY MP) for being 'dangerous'.
And yes, it was Labour who created the NHS.
Labour should be too ashamed of the gap between the past and the present to try and use their history as propaganda. http://crazyelmont.blogspot.com/2009/11/against-odds-damned-by-their-own.html
I guess the tories won't be taking your opinion on their presentation then . . .
Was the right PPB at the right time, recruiting new members, and lots of old ones, as well as giving an apposite history lesson . . .
The Tory equivalent on YouTube contains the glaring untruth that Pitt was a Tory, which he himself denied emphatically . . .
Ellie deserves lots of credit, and she is getting it. Labour's usually like that.
