PM Goes on His Hols...

And the weather forecast for Southwold is overcast with a high likelihood of rain...

You've got to feel sorry for him, haven't you?

I wonder if Tom Watson will be dropping by with a present this year?

Maybe a bottle of whisky and a gun?

Yet another case of "Jonah Brown", as Guido would put it!

There is absolutely no truth in the rumour that Sarah has demanded a separate caravan.

Sorry Darling, I can't come to the beach this morning, I am working on my conference speech.

Now, let me think ... I know! "I have a job to do and I'm getting on with the job and I think that's what people will want me to do."

Ha! That should do the trick!

That naughty little tease Patrick Hennessy says there's a jolly rotten poll in the offing. Any inside info, Iain?

Err ... no.

The best thing for Gordon, his kids and the country would be for him to decide on a dignified retirement.

I wish him a good family holiday and the sense to make this decision.

Well, if he's there a week he can claim to be local;after all, you tried that stunt!

The story is that the Chattering Classes were ringing up to cancel their bookings in Southwold because of the Gordon visit.

"And we were in Southwold for the week. Minty bumped into Gordon Brown in the lobby and he asked her to take tea. He was really interested to find that the Saab now runs on chip fat and urine. We all had Darjeeling and Battenburg. Which was nice."

Brown has apparently started his holiday - at Whitlingham Country Park, Trowse, Norfolk.

Another U-turn?

"This rain is a worldwide phenomenon, but we are best placed to withstand it because of the inherent strength of our raincoat/umbrella industry, and I shall just be getting on with the job.....blah, blah,"

Up to a point, Lord Iain:

'Sat: Sunny: 24
Sun: Sunny: 23
Mon: Drizzle: 19
Tues: Heavy showers: 21
Wed: Sunny: 20'

Normal for Nor/Suf-folk at this time of year, I'd say.

I hear Scotland is nice this time of year. Perhaps me might do us a favour and retire there TODAY!

So Brown is holidaying in Southwold, to show sympathy with the electorate and the credit crunch… well that was the spin!

The Guardian reported…

“His aides will also be hoping his visit will give the impression that the prime minister is "feeling the pain" of the credit crunch by holidaying at home.”

He is actually staying at Shadingfield hall, a £4,500 per week mansion – according to the BBC video, for 2 weeks.

It is booked out for the period 26th July to 7th August

Looks quite nice – even room for the Butler – how socialism has changed!

Just heard on the news:

"When Mr Brown arrived at his B&B he found that there had been a misunderstanding and there was no booking in his name.

The owner of the B&B later admitted that he'd had to let the room go - he just couldn't afford the insurance.

Mr Brown was reported to be getting on with the job and steering his family through the difficult night ahead. He quipped, "Seems I'm economising, too - we're spending the night in the volvo."

So it'll be the relatively modest Bedroom 5 at Shadingham Hall for the Browns, nae doot. Twin beds and views to the north.

Who's paying the £4500 a week? Not the poor bloody taxpayer I hope. Hasn't he misappropriated enough of our money already?

Iain in response to your 'Groundhog Day' post. Brown gets into holiday mode by telling the BBC he's 'getting on with the job.' No Gordon you're supposedly going on holiday.
Interesting in light of the overheard Obama/Cameron remarks mentioned on CH.

Weather update @ 0200 hrs: 5 raindrops out of 10; he should've come to sunny Twickenham: 0/10!

Look, we've been having a nice few days fine weather here in sunny Suffolk. But that fucking Jonah's turning up the rains on the way.

Southwolds a poncy place at the best of times, full of media types, so now there's another good reason not to go there.

"You've got to feel sorry for him, haven't you?"

Many people do, occasionally, start to feel sorry for him.

In my case I cure that weakness by reminding myself that for over a decade he has been in charge of government domestic policy (as well as the economy). He has ruined my life; massacred the education, and therefore the life chances of my young relatives; launched a war against white working classs males, especially English ones; transformed the economy mainly into nothing but low-paid warehouse jobs, which people can't get anyway because immigrants are given preference; and reduced unemployment benefit levels below survival level in order to give away every possible penny to foreigners.

Hoping for snow blizzards in Southwold is merely the start of what he deserves.

There isn't, by any chance, a business hiring canoes on the beach at Southwold, is there?

Imagine the scene - nice day you pack the wife and kids in the car and motor to Whitlingham Country Park to get away from the news etc and what do you get - "Bloody" Gordon Brown trying to do casual with the media circus in tow. That's another few lost votes then !

Definately the curse of Jonah, the one eyed son of the Manse, strikes again!
