Look Into My Eyes, Look Into My Eyes...

Possibly the most frightening photo in the history of ... well, everything. And yes, we really were that close. No photoshopping at the Daily Telegraph! Anyway, Alas Dale & Heffer HEFFER CONFRONTED will be reaching your screens on Telegraph TV on Thursday and every Thursday thereafter. [Enough plugs - ed]

Off to watch a program on BBC 2 about a 1000 ways to kill Michael Portillo. Sounds like fun.

In our host's position, I'd be tempted to do my best Liz Taylor/'Maggie The Cat' and start screaming "No-neck monster!"

However, that would be rude, and there's the terrifying prospect of Heffer replying, "Call me Bubbles, dahlink, everybody does". :)

I always felt Simon Heffer to be one of the smuggest and most annoying of hacks whenever seen on TV. You'll come across as a saint next to him Iain.

You know, when Smith & Jones did those original sketches they were actually sat on two separate sides of the studio and then the two profiles were joined in production... could have saved some uncomfortable moments!

Did you put him off his guard by planting a smacker on him?
