Guido and I have been busy little beavers tonight, putting the finishing touches to the Little Red Book of New Labour Sleaze. We now have 84 of the 100 entries in our greasy little mitts. The rest will be finished off in the morning, when the typesetter (who is a Labour Party supporter!) will get to work on designing the book. So the timetable looks like this:
MONDAY/TUESDAY typesetting
WEDNESDAY Proofing/Indexing
THURSDAY Typesetter final corrections
FRIDAY To the printer
There will be 15 or so cartoons in the book, drawn by Hoby (who's the son of a senior MP). There will also be a new website at www.newlaboursleaze.com. It's not up yet and is currently being designed, so you'll have to be patient for that. Any ideas of what we might put on it gratefully received. Tomorrow I've got to persuade WH Smith, Ottakers and Waterstone's that they should stock copies of the book in each otheir stores. If you'd like to pre-order a copy of the book click HERE.
One other thing you could all do for me is to persuade your local bookshop to stock the book. We've not time to sell it into all shops ourselves, so to make this work it must be marketed by the blogging community. I have a full colour sales sheet, which I can email to you upon request.
We got mentions today in several newspapers including the Atticus Column of the Sunday Times. So it's all looking good! My only dilemma now is that I have two print quotes - one to print within 4 dayas and another to print within 2 weeks. The first is almost double the price of the second. I think I'll sleep on it...

Iain, have you contacted Amazon.com? I'm sure you have but I'm just checking.
Why not include a New Labour Crony(hypocrits)Institutional Family Tree.
Look forward to reading "Little Red Book
On the print side of things I would say go sooner rather than later. Tony might not still be around in two weeks.
On the website, how about a compendium of links to blog posts under each of the stories. That way readers will have the story with a link to the author and also a series of links to contemporary accounts of the incident.
No link yet on Amazon.co.uk, is that because Politicos will get all the web sales (though there's nothing wrong in that)?
It will soon be on Amazon. The book was only registered last week so it takes a bit of time for it to trickle through their systems.
Go for publiciation now - timing is crucial to hit where it hurts.
I'd say go for it now, but then its not my money and it is quite a price hike. I am really impatient to see it though:)
Iain,
Did you keep Galloway out for legal reasons?
Printers who are cheap get lots of business so there's always a long queue for their services. Those who are expensive are often in a position to swing into action at a moment's notice. It's one of the wonders of the market economy.
Surely if Galloway had been included it would be the "Big Red Book"...
