Could Lasagne Win it Again?

At last year's playoff final we all met up before the game at a Cardiff restaurant. I ordered lasagne. We won. We're in the same restaurant so I ordered lasagne again. On such things can matches be won or lost! West Ham have also got the 'lucky' dressing room and lucky hotel. And we're playing in our white strip which we wore in 1975 and 1980. Now, altogether to the tune of Volare...

Zamora, woh-oh
Zamora, woh-oh
He came from Shite Hart Lane
He's better than Jermain
Zamora, woh-oh
Zamora, woh-oh

We have just been singing this in the restaurant with some Italian musicians. What a day. I just wanted to share a moment of it. Come on You Irons!

Good luck, Iain. As a Man Utd supporter anything other than a Liverpool win !

Perhaps they didn't get their recipe quite right...

What an amazing match, West Ham were so unlucky not to win. Steven Gerrard was on amazing form, can't wait for the world cup.

All ended in tears Iain, so near but yet so far. Fortunes have faded away for this year!

My brother is a Liverpool fan, and judging from the screams in the next room, I'm guessing commiserations are in order.

Need a hug, Iain?

Hard luck, Iain.

So close. Enjoy your night anyway !

Iain its all your fault. You should have had a lasagne at half time. This one goes down as a classic. V tough on West Ham. A team either fears its fate too much or its deserts are too small, who fear to put it to the touch to gain or lose it all(apologies Walter Scott). West Ham did not bottle it. Well done heros every one.

As an Evertonian I am totally gutted. I can't believe how bloody lucky the red shite is. You were robbed Iain.

Desperately unlucky for all you Hammers, but the good news is that there is a genuinely solid foundation at the club now.

For all Gerrard's brilliance, the difference turned out to be Reina's superb goalkeeping in the shoot out.

Unlucky Iain but a great game anyway.

Three helpings of Lasagne next time should do it.
