Nick Bowes: Master of Political Flexibility
Nick Bowes (see THIS story) has all the political flexibility of the Labour donors he so disdains. In his blog he slagged off Gulam Noon for failing to recognise trade unions in some of his businesses, yet what do we find? Thanks to Guido we know that Nick Bowes works for the Engineering Employers Federation. Unless they've changed in recent years, they're the most right wing and anti trade union employers' organisation in Britain. I remember them well from my days with the Port employers - I thought we were hawkish, but they were positively foaming at the mouth. But it is this 'flexibility' of thought that enabled Nick to go so far in his role as Labour's Head of High Value Fundraising. He clearly knew 'dodgy' things were happening but as far as we know, he failed to do anything about it. Inspector Yates will no doubt soon be offering Nick the chance to make good.
