It is not for me to comment on other countries, but the Polish government at a time of financial crisis behaved with full responsibility in terms of its public funds and the budget deficit. After a few months you can say that our economic and financial policy has been accepted both at home and abroad. The government made the assumption that the best way to deal with the problem was not to increase public spending but the availability of public finance. Effective supervision of banks and sticking to the rules, not exaggerating with living on credit – these are the most certain ways to avoid [the consequences] of financial crisis.
Better not let Gordon get anywhere near the plane's cockpit on the way back to Heathrow.

Brown just has to be a masochist. Anyone else might see the error of their ways!
Brown...the fool who keeps on being foolish!
Someone should tell Brown that his global grandstanding days are over.
He is more likely to build a comedy fan base on youtube than gain respect on the international stage.
Of course it will get worse when the government probably including Brown says we are best placed to endure Swine Flu!
Don't these idiot's ever learn?
More to the point, what has happened to Janestheone, has it been torpedoed?
What's truly scary is he's the man we are betting our lives on to get a grip in delaying any flu pandemic long enough to make a vaccine.
Given what's currently being reported about people not being greeted from flights from Mexico (R4 this lunch time) and the usual spider's web of government departments and authorities things could get very bad.
Its best to hope the virus is a New Labour virus and can't deliver on its manifesto promises.
It really is about time a motion of no confidence was put to the House. The UK simply cannot afford Brown any more and his mad economic theories.
Please, Members of Parliament, grow a backbone and throw this bully out of offcie. Put the state before party - for once.
Who's more foolish...the fool, or the fools that follow him?
Ha Ha Ha Ha! A joke abroad as well as at home!
Safer to put him in a straitjacket. We don't want him puncturing the cabin with a Nokia.
Brown...the fool who keeps on being foolish!Brown, the git that keeps on gitting
I am sick to death of seeing his gurning boat on the BBC. He's like Mr Spock without the emotion or the talent to think logically or at all.
There is definitely summat wrong with him, probably SBS - Stupid Bugger Syndrome, I think.
Ouch! How exactly does he can he come back here and boast any kind of (phantom) consensus after that? Does 'the world' become 'the major economies' or 'the USA'?
Nah. That narrative's as bust as we are now and Brown's way, way behind the credibility curve and slipping further.
He should fire his press men. Oh, wait a mo., he's done that twice already.
Time for another ICBN, then.
Things are very bad when a leader can no longer fly abroad to escape criticism at home.
Poor Poland, poor Donald Tusk. Brown has now put the evil eye on them. He is the harbinger of disaster - a Horseman of the Apocalypse.
Brown's nightmare year continues would be better. Or better still, his nightmare premiership!

So does that make the Polish government a 'do nothing' party? I thought Gordon said the Conservatives were the only one of those.
Fortunately, punters (sorry passengers) are not allowed on the flight deck any more.
I wonder if Quentin Davies MP still thinks he did the right thing in leaving the Conservative Party, and Joining Labour, in June 2007. After being a member of the Conservative Party for 30 years, I can understand he might feel at home with New Labour, but not with the Labour party as it is today.
The UK is one of the best prepared countries to deal with swine flu and "all action necessary" will be taken to stop its spread, Gordon Brown has said.
From the beeb, nice call Marin
At least he's out of the country for a few days. Quite what he thinks he's doing or can achieve rushing about all over the place God alone knows. Thinking about it he's probably trying to sort a new job post 2010. But who'd have him? Eh? Just who?
How much is his constant Nomadic lifestyle costing us all. What an absolute joke.
I can see the headlines now: Tusk Gores Gordon.
It's funny how these current totalatarian regiemes and countries that have been repressed in the past by communists hate Brown and treat him with contempt!
OTS.
Tucked away on page 2 under their News Bulletin column is a piece entitled "UK will consider Guantanamo plea"
In which we are told that the UK has NOT ruled out taking in terrorism suspects from Guantanamo Bay!!
Jack Straw that true 'man of straw' says that 2We would always consider applications that are made to us by the United states. We will do our best to help and support the policy of the Obama administration to close Guantanamo Bay"
So NO ENTRY for the excellent Gurkha's and families - who gave their blood for us all.
YET a Come On In to those that would want to see our blood flow.
Sums this pitiful country up. Sums this disgraceful government up.
YET, where is the uproar from Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition?
I suppose they will say and do nothing and allow the whole of Pakistan to come here when the Taliban reach Islamabad!!
Yet another opportunity to speak for the vast majority of the people-missed.
Now could we just stop the comparison to the divine Spock please.
Mr Spock was brilliant, composed and very, VERY sexy, and true Trekkers will remember that he had no wish to become a Captain.
Mr Brown, on the other hand .....
"the best way to deal with the problem was not to increase public spending but the availability of public finance"
When Prime Minister of Poland makes a statement like this, it sounds good, but they also did something else to make up for loss of income. They ordered severe cuts in some areas of public services.
For example this week we had reports about cuts in budgets for police and fire-fighters in Warsaw. They reduce spending on fuel, equipment, repairs or investment in new cars. This is has little to do with refusing to "increase public spending", and will hit you back one day.

You couldn't persuade him to go to a couple of Newcastle matches, could you?
And yet not a single mention of this on the BBC, despite it being political headlines on almost every other news source.
is cameron silent because you`re not supposed to criticise the PM when hes abroad, or is it that hes just not up to the Job. Brown should be a gift for any opposition leader, so where are they?
I bet you won't get this kind of nonsense in Poland:
HousingMaternityWelcome to Gordon Brown's Britain. Is it any wonder the country's going down the glugger?
Never thought I'd say this, but please bring back Tony Blair. Not even he was this bad.
I don't like Gordon Brown. I certainly don't like the increase of massive state surveillance. And I am quite willing to consider that Brown as Chancellor and New Labour in general were far too pro-City.
But none of that means that Brown's current efforts to fend off a depression are wrong.
From today’s Gazeta Wyborcza: “Poland does not rule out offering its support to Mr Blair, but in return it wants Britain's backing for the candidature of a new Polish EU commissioner with a solid economic portfolio…”
The Polish press is leading its reports on Brown's breakfast with Tusk on their talks on Brown's pitch for Blair to be the EU permanent president. The Lisbon treaty isn't even through in 3 or 4 countries and we've got Brown negotiating offices and posts in federal Europe.
