Launch of The Conventional Wisdom Index

I'm going to introduce a new occasional feature (probably weekly) on this Blog called The Conventional Wisdom Index. Newsweek magazine did this during the presidential primaries in 1987 (or was it 1991?) where they would indicate if, in their view, a particular candidate had had a good week or a bad week. I'm going to be as objective as I can about it and avoid partisan politics and endeavour to reflect just what the conventional wisdom is. I intend to track the fortunes of the following each week (usually at the weekend).

Tony Blair
David Cameron
Ming Campbell
Gordon Brown
Labour Party
Conservative Party
Liberal Democrats
George W Bush
The Reputation of Politics
Parliamentary Democracy
The European Union

I you think I should track any other individuals, institutions or concepts, feeel free to suggest some.

Senator Clinton maybe? There is a great site in the US called Hillary Watch.

Make sure you are!!! We'll be watching.

PS Objective does not mean that Cameron wins PMQ's every week...

Alan Pardew clearly an option.

Yes, I am not all that sure you will be strictly objective. I will eat my hat if Cameron's stock falls below those of other leading figures for a sustained period, and you can eat your A-list accreditation documents.

great idea BUT parliamentary democracy seems a little abstract and reputation of politics seems pointless.
The EU-does anyone care?
Hilary Clinton sounds a goody.Would like to see your readership keeping an eye on Jowell too just to make sure that the Berlusconi business doesn't drop off the radar cos of TBs problems

Can we track George Galloway? That has to produce some laughs along the way.

Plus it will give us the "conventional idiocy" benchmark to measure these wisdoms against.

Prince Charles and/or Camilla ..... speaking of whom with all those millions and someone to squeeze their toothpaste out of its tube every morning, surely someone could do something about Camilla's hair.
