By-election

Just a quick minute out of knocking up. Turnout is very high. At 4pm it was close to 50% already.

Iain,

My friends in North Norfolk tell me that the Lib Dems have GAINED the seat with a majority of 39 votes?

By your own benchmark I assume you will now concede that this is a BAD result and that you are not on target to win in the General Election?

All the best,

Neil

You are joking - this was the safest seat for the Conservatives in Norman Lamb's Costituency, by a mile, wasn't it? Iain shouldn't have gone to Fakenham races should he? I guess the good people of that ward have seen through the Conservative shallowness. Iain will have to stop sitting on the fence and stop running negative campaigns. Was it all Iain Dales fault? He could be in serious trouble with his Constituenct Party now? Iain, why can't you take advice mate.

good heavens Iain what on earth went wrong?

I'm sorry to hear the result. You would have made a good MP for local Conservatives and I'm sad that that's now looking so unlikely.

Iain,

you have been slow to comment on this. This is unusual, are you now back in London considering your options?

I wonder if on May 6th, you will look back on February 22nd as the day you lost the election...?

Oh dear. I hope Lord Ashcroft doesnt ask for his money back...

Oh, my such inelegant gloating! Yes, the result was disappointing but it's not over till the Fat Lady sings!

There's still all to fight for and you can be assured Mr. Dale will do so.

Lady F
Who is this fat lady who keeps wanting to sing?
