I'm pretty sure I could see "The Hands of Dale" working the strings from above there. ;-)

Simon Gardner said...

I have absolutely no idea whatsoever who "Peter Watt" is.

Zach Johnstone said...

Further to the Steven Pound exchange, what concern of Watt's is it when he publishes his book? Why on earth should he worry about the electoral effect on the Labour Party?

The Grim Reaper said...

@Simon Gardner: Initially, I thought it was some kind of light bulb...

Now I do know who he is, but don't care very much. So a limited success for the Iain Dale Spin Machine. ;-)

I wouldn't worry about Stephen Pound, he's an irrelevant embarrassment now and will be an unemployed irrelevant embarrassment after the general election.

Gosh what an unedifying sight, so many heads in sand and arses up in the air.

I'm sure we all have our favourite Labour counter-attacks against Peter Watt.
Mine is the quite weird double attack:

You know very well nobody is going to buy it and you're just trying to make money.

Gets me every time that one. :D

You're doing a great PR job for this, Iain, well done.

The more this is in the media, the more Labour have to send bully boys like Pound in to attack Watt and in doing so reinforce their image as the playground bully attacking the injured party.

How the BBC's PC radar isn't spinning wildly in response to this I do not know. They would normally be on the side of the "victim" come what may, yet they seem strangely quiet about this - Marr this morning excepted.

Interestingly he comes across as a very normal person.

How strange it is to see that sort of person interviewed on a politics program.

Stephen Pound: Wasnt he the Labour politician who stated that 'The People have spoken' and followed that by 'BASTARDS!

Having now watched this Peter Watt guy now a few times over the past few days I'm beginning to like him - notwithstanding his weird beliefs of how society ought to be run, him being a committed Labour person and all. :-)

He seems to be a clear thinker, able to grasp the point of the moment. Hmmm, I wonder if Andy Coulson could usefully employ Peter Watt on a contract basis for a few months?

Jimmy said...

Has he been booked on "I'm a celebrity" yet?

Don said...

Simon Gardner, if you genuinely have no idea who Peter Watt is you have no business posting on a topical political website.
Something you have proved in the past.

True Belle said...

Hells teeth, is Marr interviewing babies now. What is Watt, does he matter?

Is politics being hijacked by kidolitions? To many tell tale tits around now- Can we all get back to grown up politics for serious minds, please.

The only Watt I am interested in is a few dozen 100watt bulbs, to stop me tripping down the stairs.

What I find astonishing is that the BBC stood on the sidelines with its hands in its pockets and investigated nothing. Imagine if it was the Tories, no stone would be left unturned. The BBC and Labour are one and the same.

I'm stunned at the level of "disinterest" and counter attack in these comments - if you don't know who Peter Watt is by now, you shouldn't be here.
This guy was told by McShite that he would be looked after and he was even sent a bunch of flowers by Snotty while said nasty piece of Brown was setting him up to take the fall with the police. Now, if I were in the same position, I might be a bit peeved - peeved enough to write a book, even!
Even the timing is perfect, which has clearly got up a few noses - the constant drip...drip...drip of Labour poison in the Mail on Sunday has obviously struck a raw nerve with the Left!
I, for one, have pre-ordered the book and I can't wait to find out more about our vile government.
Thanks for using the video, Iain.
