Tweet of the Day
"Gordon Brown told GMTV he had spoken to S. Cowell to check on Susan Boyle's progress.' What the hell has it got to do with the PM?"
So he did the poor Susan routine after he made an A-se of himself on the Today programme? Index finger stabbing on the desk? Just asking you understand! I'd like some bright clear thinker to fisk that interview. The nation would be grateful.
Shamelessly cut & pasted from what I posted on Guido's site....
Bl**dy hell. Just read the sky news site about Susan Boyle.
Apparently the Mentalist was on the phone to Cowell & Piers Morgan last night to “make sure she was OK”
Now, much as I hate BGT and the car crash TV associated with exploiting Ms Boyle…..
Hasn’t the Mentalist got better things to do?
He’s not seen for nearly 10 days, the country is in it worst financial mess for decades, parliament is going through the worst expose for nearly 300 years and it turns out he’s been worried about Britain’s Got Talent contestants?
Puhhhleeeazzee give me strength.
It’s just the lowest of the low I think.
What about that woman who is supposedly too stupid to look after her own kid? Did the Mentalist phone her up?
Does he phone up Afhgan civilians?
Much as I think Blair is a t*sser, not even he would stoop this low to try and get coverage.
Now look at them Emm-Pees that’s the way you do it You play the class card on the BBC That ain’t workin’ that’s the way you do it Money for nothin’ and a gaff for free Now that ain’t workin’ that’s the way you do it Lemme tell ya the public’s dumb Maybe get a new house on your exes Maybe get two seats for your bum

Can anyone remind me of any one, single thing that Brown has touched which resulted in a success? Utter destruction becomes of everything he has contact with?
As well as being PM Gordon Brown is a subject of her majesty that is entitled to have wider interests than 24/7 politicking. And Susan Boyle clearly does need watching. 100 Million hits vs about 5,000 last time he tried his hand at YouTube if you want to game. His mistake? Not offering a disheveled midnight croaky-oke rendition of something from Cats.
1. She is Scottish; 2. Gordon Brown is Scottish; 3. GB is a Scottish MP; 4. There are elections this week in Scotland; 5. GB would would like us to think of him as a nice, kind, compasionate person instead of a Sociopath.
Maybe the deluded fool thinks pretending he has real human emotions might win him an extra vote, the only problem he has is that just like his smile no one belives it is genuine.
But he's "Busy getting on with the job". Just goes to show how busy he must be if he's time for such trivial crap. Call a GE you thick twat, put yourself out of the misery you are in.
Don't forget that he wrote to the X factor finalists and now this year's Big Brother contestants excitedly await their letter from our glorious leader. Does anyone remember that channel 5 reality programme about colonic irrigation and so on - shame he wasn't PM then, they deserved a letter - as did Rebecca Loos on "the Farm", not forgetting the pig.
You'd have thought that the Prime Minister has more important things to be doing than checking on the mental health of someone he has never met! And to think this is a man who said he wasn't going to be seduced by celebrities.
Thought GB looked and sounded demented yesterday on Marr. Slightly better on the Today program today, possibly because Evan did not let him repeatedly talk over the top of him with tractor statistics. Disappointed he didn't give us an update on Susan tho. Definitely a chance missed.
The reason is quite straightforward. One is an individual from a small Scottish town who is suffering from delusions of grandeur after taking part and coming second in nothing more than a popularity contest and will undoubtedly end up resident in a mental institution.
She is Scottish; 2. Gordon Brown is Scottish; 3. GB is a Scottish MP; 4. There are elections this week in Scotland; 5. GB would would like us to think of him as a nice, kind, compasionate person instead of a Sociopath.
Simple really.
I live in Scotland - one G brown is the local M.P.
Listen, the guy is an odious, useless lump of dross and I can't wait to see the back of him either, but really, is this the best thing to attack him on? Lame, Iain. Lame as fuck. I'm starting to see why your favourite radio station is 5 Live. Pure, tabloid bullshit.
I find it staggering that Gordon Brown phoned Morgan and Cowell to check that Susan Boyle was OK and wondered if he had called the family of the two soldiers killed over the weekend in Afghanistan to see if there were OK too. Somehow I suspect not. JD
Just listened to Adam Boulton interviewing Brown and it concluded with a question about D Day, Brown saying that he would have to ask French Government about failure to invite Queen. Yesterday, of course, he told Marr that would have to get a statement from the Palace. I belive this single act might be one of the nastiest things for which he is responsible and it does beg the question - why couldn't he talk to the Palace as easily as he can waste time talking to Cowell/Boyle etc.
It really is marvelous to see Britain's Prime Minister try to pander to the electorate in this way. Are people really going to think,
"What a nice man to be so concerned about his fellow Scot. Despite the cataclysmic failure he's been, I must vote for him this week."
I have just read Boris Johnson's article on Simon Heffer. It is the funniest thing I've read all year. I think he's probably getting back at Heffer for criticising him just days before the Mayoral elections, and having to take the wrap for that Liverpool "victimhood" thing in The Spectator (which Heffer actually wrote).
If Heffer values his reputation, he simply has to stand.
Some left wing tool was just on Simon Mayo's left wing show (some prat called Jonathan Coe) slagging off Thatcher blaming HER for the current economic mess. Mayo of course allowed this crap to be spouted without any cross examination.
What crass behaviour. Brown is utterly deluded - completely out of touch with reality. Here he is is spending his time ringing celebs to get them to check on the progress of other celebs - and wanting us all to know about it.
In the meantime the whole economy is going down the tubes - along with the entire Labour Party, there are elections going on etc etc etc.
I'm boggling at the timeline here - the Air France plane went missing well before he announced on GMTV that he'd been calling Simon Cowell on our behalf, but he didn't mention the air disaster at all in his TV interview and only got round to making a statement about it this afternoon.
Er, one is a hairy, fat, ugly, Scottish, great big girl with a strange desire to rub shoulders with Celebs like Simon Cowell - and the other is Susan Boyle.
Forgive me, did I misunderstand the question?......
Do you know what makes me utterly sick about this man? Its how totally shameless he is. Yesterday we had the bizarre interview with Andrew Marr with Brown claiming that as far as MPs expenses were concerned he proposed changes long ago, he`d done this and he alone had done that. Etc etc, and than today as well as getting on with the job that hes always telling us about, he found time to get on the comfortable GMTV sofa and announce to the world that he`d phoned Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan to check on the wellbeing of Susan Boyles. How nice of him, but on the day that the latest victims of the fighting in Afghanistan were released, did he phone their familys to offer his condolences? NO. Has he spoken to ANY of the familys of soldiers killed in Afghanistan? NO. Has he been to Brize Norton to comfort the familys of the dead as their sons and daughters coffins are offloaded from the planes on their final journey home? OF COURSE NOT. Brown is scum. A worse opportunist than Tony Blair and thats saying something. WHY CANT WE HAVE AN ELECTION NOW?
Apart from the issue of "getting on with the job" there is a serious issue of medical confidentiality here.
I understand that a woman is in a psychiatric hospital, in a delicate state. There should be no information released to any one, not even next of kin, without her express permission, assuming that her state of mind allows her valid consent. For a non relative to enquire and then apparently receive and dissemminate a report is a gross infringment of medical confidentiality.
More of the same following on from the Marr interview yesterday. He even mentioned help for people with mortgage difficulties again - neither Marr nor Evan pulled him up on it - 2 people/families helped so far this year - circa 35,000 (anyone confirm) people have had their homes re-possessed YTD. Why does no one go for the jugular on this everytime he mentions it.
The loans and working capital facilities for small businesses is just as much of a joke as well.
On a seperate issue; is there anyway to get an FoI response to the Queen's non-invite to France before Friday?
GB is obviously having some interesting conversations these days. On the Today programme this morning he told Evan Davis he had asked "Sir David Kelly" to investigate. It's all getting quite strange.
The well-being of Susan Boyle is as much to do with Brown as Hoddle as England Manager was to Blair when he was P.M. - on GMTV too, I believe. Bugger all ! He disappeared off the radar for ages then, once he'd left it too late and even Cameron had made him look useless, he's suddenly appeared everywhere doing me, I, me, me, I. With over 40 ministers you'd think at least some of them wouldn't need him micro-managing every department and news item.

“Code of conduct to help clean up politics: Brown”: Is he to be trusted on this?
He's getting on with the job, the job people want him to do.
Either
a. Brown thinks he is a celebrity and that people get a kick out of him calling, or
b. Brown thinks his soothing words have healing powers, or
c. Brown is chasing the Jack Tweed vote.
So he did the poor Susan routine after he made an A-se of himself on the Today programme? Index finger stabbing on the desk? Just asking you understand!
I'd like some bright clear thinker to fisk that interview. The nation would be grateful.
You never see Gordon Brown and Susan Boyle in the same room do you?
Poor cow will be dead by lunchtime!
THE CURSE! THE CURSE!
He is probably wanting advice on what mental clinic to deposit himself into one the PM gig runs its course in about another month.
Piers Morgan on GMTV said that he had spoken to Brown. Brown rang Piers. Whatever.
Picking up babies and cuddling them last week, concern over SuBo, interviews on GMTV ... is there an election on or something?
Yeah, is on the Sky news site.

If Jonah Broon has been asking for her, she'll be on suicide watch now.

Better this than trying to run the country
depresing. utterly, utterly depressing.
pity he didn't check on the progress of the housing market all the while he was pumping it full of excess liquidity.
in the name of God, somebody put us out of our misery and get rid of this clown.

Re: your tweet about Johnson on Heffer as prospective MP - do re-visit Heffer on Johnson as prospective Mayor.
He was just trying to find out what actually happens when the men in white coats do turn up...
its called the 'common touch', I fear after this morning's outing he is just touched

G Brown has full confidence in himself.
Not long to go then.
Cor, that Gordon Brown really dislikes Celebrity Culture!
Remember that?
Gordon, you're a totally rubbish politician. You can't even do the basics.
Meanwhile, Diversity say they want to help fix 'Broken Britain'.

Hi Iain - any thoughts on this - http://scarymarytory.blogspot.com/2009/06/integrity-and-mps.html - sorry to seem like a stalker!
Maybe he's making sure there's a room at the Priory available for Friday
And Guido will say that is why Susan Boyle lost.
Still no mention of Cameron's expenses Iain? What about Howard's?
Where I come from we call that moral cowardice Iain. What do yo call it?
Before you ask I codemn Darling et all for theirs too.

The Mendacious Manseman probably wants to know how he will be treated when the voters give him that well deserved kick in the teeth!
Maybe he wished her good luck before the final? Which would explain her current situation.

He is expecting to go there himself soon and was just trying to get a reference...
Brown clearly has nothing better to do.
He's just been on Radio5live talking about her.
Jeez all the woman needs is the kiss of death isn't it. Poor Susan.
Thought GB looked and sounded demented yesterday on Marr. Slightly better on the Today program today, possibly because Evan did not let him repeatedly talk over the top of him with tractor statistics. Disappointed he didn't give us an update on Susan tho. Definitely a chance missed.
Brown's shallower and more shameless than a Lib Dem election leaflet ( and that takes some doing ).
Gordon Brown takes an interst in Susan Boyle.
The reason is quite straightforward. One is an individual from a small Scottish town who is suffering from delusions of grandeur after taking part and coming second in nothing more than a popularity contest and will undoubtedly end up resident in a mental institution.
The other is Susan Boyle.
Anon 10:10 AM
That is one of the best posts I have ever read. Classic!
Thank you.
There is no low to which he
will not stoop.
It started in America...
Does Broon contact the families of our dead soldiers to ask after their welfare? He's got his priorities right again.
Harri I'm as much in the dark as you are. But he insists he's getting on with the job, so he must be.
What a w*****
Does anybody really think that Brown gives a toss about Susan Boyle?
He's just trying to appear "groovy" and in doing so is making himself look like a total tit.
Brown supports the LBGT agenda
"You never see Gordon Brown and Susan Boyle in the same room do you?"
Lol! :)
Ooh, Darling, you are awful!"

It's one mentally unstable Scot asking after the health of another.
Perhaps he's finding out about the Priory's facilities, just in case he should need them one day....

NO, no, no - it's another smokescreen...
Brown's number was traced back to his phone and that was his excuse... he actually phoned to book a place!
Just listened to Adam Boulton interviewing Brown and it concluded with a question about D Day, Brown saying that he would have to ask French Government about failure to invite Queen. Yesterday, of course, he told Marr that would have to get a statement from the Palace. And we now have him announcing there may have been Brits in the plane that crashed earlier today.
Perhaps his future is announcing train times at some god-forsaken outpost in Scotland?
Poker players often talk of "tells" - ie - when their opponents give away things via body language.
Brown has a classic "tell" - that inane and deeply disingenuous grin. Just watch any of his speeches, or his TV interviews - like the one with Marr
"..offends my Presbytarian conscience...." grin
I never thought I could be so repulsed by a politician. Brown makes me feel physically sick.
Some left wing tool was just on Simon Mayo's left wing show (some prat called Jonathan Coe) slagging off Thatcher blaming HER for the current economic mess. Mayo of course allowed this crap to be spouted without any cross examination.

You couldn't make Gordon Brown up.
Disgusted - v funny!
How about this one:
"I do fear that there may be some British citizens on board. We are doing all the checking that is necessary."
He's considering giving her a peerage and a place in the Cabinet ?
>>Simon Mayo's left wing show<< ??
And I thought Brown was paranoid.
Er, one is a hairy, fat, ugly, Scottish, great big girl with a strange desire to rub shoulders with Celebs like Simon Cowell - and the other is Susan Boyle.

Brown said on Sky that McBride was sacked. I thought he resigned. Big difference.
Did anyone get the real story through FOI?
Perhaps Susan Boyle will phone up straw and ask how brown is when he finally has his breakdown! That would be a nice touch.
One ugly failure supporting another. Makes sense, really.
was this as well as or instead of spending every waking moment think of real things to help real families
