Sky News Tonight
For those who don't see enough of me on 18 Doughty Street, I'll be doing the Sky News paper review at 11.30pm to midnight tonight, alongside Ian Collins of Talksport.
Hi Iain, I won't be able to watch (I'm in bed by 10.00 - how bloody sad is that?), and anyway I don't have cable (ditto). Unless I've missed them before, can you get links (podcast and YouTube type things) to when you are on, other than Doughty Street? God this sounds sycophantic!
We are looking at podcasting some programmes through iTunes. We also have a Youtube page. But if you have the internet why not access them direct at www.18doughtystreet.com?
Just visited 18doughtystreet.com - what exactly does Tim Montgomerie's moving on mean for doughtystreet? Sounds the right way forward, but can't see a mention on your blog.
Anonymous, it's all on the 18 Doughty Street blog. This is what I said to Dizzy on his blog when he wrote about it...
"We’re looking to develop 18 Doughty Street into a slightly less partisan and more newsy channel. We want to widen its appeal and commercialise it. The way to do this is to move gradually towards a slightly different model, where we’re still opinionated and forthright, but cover a wider spectrum of views. We will continue to be as far to the right as the BBC is to the left, but we do want to attract more viewers and programme makers and presenters from the centre left. We’re already making programmes with Peter Tatchell, Yasmin Alibhai-Brown and Christian Wolmar but we want to expand our range and schedule. We have also got plans for a nightly news show. Tim’s success with Campaign HQ will continue in a different way and he will be able to play to his strengths in the new environment. We’re all very excited by these new developments."

You aren't Davey Miliblob, by any chance? Life is passing you by, Mili, you need to get a real job, say, working your guts out running an SME in order to keep the Miliblob, Blairs and Broons of this world in the lap of luxury and to support their families and elitist, tax free pensions. Then you will hardly ever go to bed because you'll be just like me, one of Broon's tax slaves.
If you're not Miliblob, I apologise...though why are you impersonating him?
Yasmin Alibhai-Brown is already COPIOUSLY broadcast by the BBC, so there is no need for 18DS to give her air time. You'll be employing George Monbiot & Jonathan Porritt next - Oh and we mustn't forget Menzies Campbell.
So can I take it Iain that if you are going to be as right as the BBC is left.
We can look forward to you getting a small amount of deliberate second rate thick lefties on the shows then publicly humilliating them, as much as humanly possible?
If not, you have not been watching very much BBC political output for the last 25 years, or you are being economical with the truth.
Good advice Iain would be.
When Tatchell talks sense, which is often, agree with him. When he talks utter Marxist colledge boy bullshit laugh and take the piss out of him.
Simple
Dont chase ratings and stop trying to make money that even newspapers cant make. Or you will fail at being a politician and a business man at the same time.
