The Revolution Will Be Youtubed

Yesterday evening I spoke at an event called THE REVOLUTION WILL BE YOUTUBED. It was a networking event at Soho attended by 100 or so media types who were interested in the concept of internet TV and citizen journalism. It was interesting to hear from Emily Renshaw Smith from Current TV, Al Gore's new TV channel. I'd love to know how much money has been pumped into it. Her glitzy promo video was very MTV and glitzy. Our was far more basic but actually explained what we do. More on the event HERE.

The Evening News lot from the Guardian Group have put quite a lot into Channel M which is on Channel 6 (and cable/freeview elsewhere). Millions. But what they are putting out is very poor indeed - on average - and even at its best it is only average ITV-lite and is certainly not " LOCAL "

Gore is involved so expect it to be a bit flash but underneath total cobblers. I suspect it'll go the way of Air America.

Thank goodness her boss wasn't there Iain - he might have had one or two words for you!
