The Culture Media and Sport Select Committee is conducting an inquiry into media privacy at the moment. My spies tell me that next Tuesday Gerry McCann will give oral evidence to the Committee in the afternoon.
On Tuesday morning, however, there will be a bit of a contrast. Apparently Max Mosley will be appearing. I wonder if the committee members will be whipped to attend...

Bum, bum!!
The problem is, if they give Max Mosley a hard time, he will probably like it. I believe these committees have ways of making people talk.
Mosley was present at the Blair/Ecclestone meeting when they got an exemption to the tobacco advertising ban and around the same time made a £1million donation to the Labour Party. Will they or won't they ask Max some rather obvious questions?
Hope they put a cushion on his chair, well you never know do you???
“I wonder if the committee members will be whipped to attend...”
Fnarr, fnarr.
You know Iain, you are definitely very prurient along with all yesterday’s most unpleasant ‘family values’ moralising.
How terribly traditionally Tory of you. That combination of sexual fascination in others’ lives alongside the wagging finger telling them not to do what you are so fascinated by. Very Conservative. Very Old Conservative.
I wonder if touchy-feelie David Cameron would approve?
Don't ask Moseley about motorsport. he's a statist bureaucrat who gets power from maintaining the status quo. IMHO if F1 runs out of money it should be allowed to go bust - like the banks should have done.
Simon do piss off . The state dragging young women into dependency with catastrophic results for them and their children has nothing to do with sex.. Its to do with irresponsible pregnancy .
Sexual prurience is actually something that the left suffer from , stuck as they are with hatchet faced harridans lecturing them in sack cloth lingerie no wonder . Still the thought of two unwashed spotty street warriors trying decide if this or that position has supremacist implications helps we Priapic Tyrannosaurs last longer ,so thanks for that.
Up yours Tory.
Simon Gardner thinks that "Tory" is a term of abuse. He must be a student.
“Tory” has always been a term of abuse.
Look it up, Tory.
Will Mosely be giving written evidence to the committee, or will it be oral?
@ Simon Gardner
And your point is?
Oliver, surely you know pompous people find humour beneath them. That's for us common inferior rabble, not for refained upper class toffs.
Simon Gradner.
How old are you......Ten?
I am proud to be a Tory and if you bothered for just one second to take a look at the facts, then you would understand why.
I expect you believe all the left-wing rubbish about how we will close the NHS down because we all have private healthcare. Until 1997 Labour had run it for little more than a decade in its history.
If a conservative government had brought the country to its knees like this Labour one has, the likes of you would be rioting in the streets and smashing up McDonalds before you could say, "Giro Cheque."
I must be a long way down from that moral high ground that all you lefties occupy.
Hope he comes in uniform.
I'm quite sure he's frequently coming in uniform, Guido.
Schoolboy humour .... excellent ! Keeps you young in mind.
Simon Gardner is clearly prematurely senile.
WV = uniation .... is that anything like onanism ?
I have a photo of how Max Mosley intends to dress for his appearance before the Select Committee.
Hmm , its occurs to me that Simon Gardner may like being insulted abused and made to feel worthless.
Leave him alone !
Pressing questions up against the board? Who's paying for this?
To be fair, the constitution of the FIA is labyrinthine - quite prosaic really, cool.
I feel sorry for Max Mosley. Because whipping fetishists have not managed to get themselves defined as a victim group, everybody feels they can be nasty about them, or tell snide litte jokes. Why are so few of us really tolerant?
Government-defined victim groups seem like such a bad idea. But perhaps they are the only way to keep the monkeys in line.
I just pray none of them starting speaking German, since Mosley finds it such a turn-on. Shudder...
Oliver Drew said... “What Iain said was supposed to be a joke.”
Yesterday’s priggish, snobbish, prurient unpleasantness was certainly not intended as a “joke” of any kind - nor was it taken as one. Which was what I was taking him to task about.
Armchair said... “I am proud to be a Tory...”
I’m sure you are, dear boy. I’m sure you are - however misguided.
Notwithstanding it is historically accurate that it was used as an insult (and indeed still is). I am very precise in my use of English. I meant “Tory” as an insult (as even some of the more retarded here realised) and it is indeed an insult.
** Wikipedia says:-
“Modern usage
In the United Kingdom, after 1832 and supersession of the Tory Party by the Conservative Party "Tory" has become shorthand for a member of the Conservative Party or for the party in general, sometimes but by no means always as a term of abuse.”
"Up yours Tory."
My, what a wit...
Oh, I'm sorry. Bit of a typo. I didn't mean to write 'wit'... ;)
Aaw never mind them Simon, someone has to support the Socialists dont they........cos there`s less and less of you every day!!!!!!!!
Just who are you accusing of being a socialist?
Go on - get stroppy about being called a socialist - I would too.
In other news : bank printing money. Tories picking up perhaps the largest employer & greatest debt in history of UK plc. We're all bloody socialists now - super, smashing, great - come and have a look at this pile of shite you've won!
Tut tut Iain you could have done better than that. I think they'll perhaps string him up :)
