A Sad Evening

I apologise that I haven't posted anything this weekend, and I am afraid that won't change tomorrow either. Those of you who read THIS post about my Godmother Eleanor earlier this week will know what a difficult few days it has been for my family. Eleanor died peacefully this evening. I'll write more about her tomorrow, but I hope everyone will understand if I don't really feel like engaging in political knock-about just at the moment.

So Sorry about your loss.
It puts things into perspective on what is important and what is not.

May she rest in piece.

Iain, you were blessed to be with this fine woman when it counted: as a kid, as a man and at her final passage. The present is bitter, the future is brighter, the bond endures.

Commisserations, matey. Still, have a good knees up at the wake. If she was like any of my relatives, she would give you her blessing.

Iain,

My sympathies and condolences on your very sad, if not unexpected, news.

And, of course, you're absolutely right. Politics is really a sideshow, much as we often believe otherwise.

It's tough, Iain and it's also a reminder one's own mortality.

Had three similar episodes myself in the last three years.

Take care.

His Grace is praying for you. In your grief, remember that she has gone to a better place, without night or tears or sorrow or pain. And our loved ones never really leave us: they live on in our actions, attitudes, thoughts and memories.

Remember you were blessed to know her. Condolences.

Wise counsel from Cranmer. Let her live on in your actions and attitudes - Godmother Eleanor sounds like a wonderful guiding star for a politician to follow.

That was lovely photo of the two of you.
She is at peace , be at peace yourself from knowing that you had such a lovely lady in your life and what a blessing that was.
Best wishes.
