Labour Appoints Official Conference Blogger

Kerron Cross, my favourite Labour blog (RIP Bob Piper) is not amused. See HERE. Kerron sooooooooooo wanted to be Labour's official conference blogger, but he's been pipped to the post by Jonathan Roberts, who runs the Thirsk & Malton Labour Blog. As you know I have been ranking all the different party-affiliated blogs for a pamphlet I am compiling for the Party Conferences. I don't think I am giving away too many secrets if I tell you that Jonathan's blog was ranked 105 in my list, so didn't even make the top 100. Further grist to Kerron's mill, I fear.

Perhaps you have to be an on message blogger to getthe job!

I am sure anyone who blogs for what claims to be "Your local modern, progressive, proactive campaigning organisation" won't be at all tediously on-message...

It should have been Neil Harding of Brighton Regency Labour, I can't understand for the life of me why it was not.

Fascinating that he asks questions but leaves no where for people to answer them. Very Nu Labour.

When is this list due out Iain, I am looking forward to a must read list of blogs to look at.

You cant even leave comments on his blog? Perhaps thats why he has been chosen - Labour don't like people to have opposing views do they.

Maybe Tory Radio should interview Walter Wolfgang in Manchester - that would be interesting!

Iain Dale - The Voice of The Delectable Right?!

http://www.thirskandmalton.blogspot.com could never be taken seriously as being a blog.Surely what is termed as a blog with no comments on it is just another website.I wonder would they even respond to other bloggers posts?

Actually, just someone I had heard of would have been fine!

I think I dubbed Dave Cameron "The Voice of the Delectable Right" some time back (following a case of mistaken identity).

But Iain's welcome to use the title! :-)

Which political party is going to allow anyone other than the most on-message of bloggers to be the 'official conference blogger' - that's why I didn't even bother applying.

Embarassing choice by NuLabour. They chosen a blogger who doesn't write a blog.

I'm not being funny but I suspect that you'll get the best news from Conference out of the various non-official Labour blogs who will be in attendance.

And I'm sure the same will be true of other party conferences.

We're used to this government handing out awards for reasons other than merit. Don't Labour supporters realise that by selecting an unpopular nonentity who doesn't interact with the public, their leadership are being completely true to form?

Hey turns out I do know this official blogger guy - Jono!!!

Never knew he blogged though (not sure he did!).

Very suspicious! :-)

Sorry Kerron didnt realise I hijacked your title for Cameron I apologise for the imprudence! :-) Lets re-enact... the case of mistaken identity.Do you by any chance think.... Iain Dale might be.... Tony Blair's twin?
