Iain,what makes you think Cruddas will lose his seat? The strength of the BNP in that particular constituency makes it very difficult to be sure what will happen.

On the subject of reading lists -

I suggest people read 'Forgotten Victory' By Gary Sheffield. It charts the victory by the British Army in the 1914-18 war.

The mistakes and the successes which took place then have a resonance now in Afghanistan.

Benji has made the point but where does Cruddas say he is standing down or thinks he will lose his seat - which is Dagenham by the way. Margaret Hodge sits for Barking.
