Shock Horror: Labour MP Caught Lying
This is David Borrow MP. The Honourable Member for South Ribble. At least, he will be until the next election. Guido reported yesterday that he's been caught out by an eagle eyed constituent. It makes you think. If he's happy to lie about signing EDMs, what else has he lied about? Readers may like to examine his political record and report back...

Having worked in South Ribble at the last election and having posted a simlar message on Guido's site ... he was lying through out the election campaign ... he is a disgrace
Justme
I'm sure people will be delighted to know that South Ribble is a marginal - he has a majority of just over 2000.
I wrote to my MP, Peter Lilley, a little while back about signing an EDM. He replied that MP's had been urged by the speaker (or some such) to reduce the number of "trivial" EDM's that they were signing. I wonder if this has something to do with that initiative. Of course, a lie is a lie, but behind every one there is a reason.
Why can't politicians learn to tell unpalatable truths - like the late Eric Forth.
A tearful Constituent complained about the house prices in her childhood neighbourhood he said "move to a grottier part of town"
The truth is always better in the long run... I think that's why the Fib Dems aren't really trusted by the electorate - except as a protest.
have the local press picked the story up???
"At least, he will be until the next election."
some tories posted jubilant comments on various blogs about them defeating him. In the end he got an above average result and held his seat.
He probably meant that he didn't sign EDMS relating to education. Anyone ever considered that?
Iain, a more 'shock horror' headline would have been "Labour MP caught telling the truth!"
There may be some truthful ones - but that's not the way to bet........
"He probably meant that he didn't sign EDMS relating to education. Anyone ever considered that?"
That may well be what he meant, but it's pretty far removed from what he said.
Sadly, as far as I'm aware, the local press haven't picked the story up as of yet.
