Dizzy has an interesting take on where the Blair plot has emanated from. Click
HERE. My respect for
Tom Watson grows by the minute. [blogscratch]
And of course for Dizzy. [/blogscratch]
UPDATE: Click HERE to Keep the Faith. Laugh, I nearly cried. Talk about desperate.

Why didn't the press pick up on this?

Have you seen the names of some of the people on the 'Keep the Faith' petition? They sound just like the 'people' who send me spam e-mail.
The one I particularly liked was "Tom Watson (not the MP)"
wot, no
Ben Dover
I P Freeley
Hugh Jass
etc. etc.
Sorry - posted that before I saw aristeides had beaten me to it!
Yep that faith site raised a smile for me too. Anyway, Gordons come out with his usual guff: http://www.epolitix.com/EN/News/200609/7546f96d-d7a5-4752-bfe5-c3f7729cbfc8.htm
I note he always seems to say this when Blair is in trouble and when some kind of new aggreement is alleged to have been made. Does this mean Blair and Brown have come to an accord regarding the formers leaving date?
If so yesterdays fun wont be going much further...
Keep the Faith.
I signed it, why not? This beats Eastenders hands down.
As soon as Tony goes, Cherie will take her revenge and have Gordon in court for some human/sexual/race based rights discrimination action.
Then Euan will win a by-election out of public sympathy with his dad/alocholism battle and emerge to lead the PLP against the vicious Tories.
Sounds fanciful but then think about how George W Bush got to power in the US and that Hilary is pitching for it now; as ever the UK is only 5 years behind!
Fabulous.
If you scroll down the list of signatories, you come to this chuckle-inducing line:
David Taylor
Carly Joseph
Ron Shaw
Donald Martin
Tom Watson (not the MP)
Barry Yorke
Keep the Faith my arse. Keep the Salary more like.
Hmm... it was set up by a 'David Taylor' according to:
http://www.whois-search.com/whois/www.keepingthefaith.org.uk
...could that be this one, perhaps?

Anyone care to do a fisking on the list of Tony's 50 achievements on the keep the faith site? I'd be particularly interested in the cost to the taxpayer for those he can rightly take the blame for. New rolling stock on the railways? Since when can TB take the credit for that?

It's always interesting to see who is hosting these websites, so a quick whois brings up the name David Talyor. I'm presuming that it's not the MP David Taylor, but could it be this one?

He's also hosting the site here

if you want to see what else is being supported by the group. I would recommend the gb site
Excellent post Dizzy.
Underdoug - I believe this is what you are looking for. It's a brilliant fisking.
Time for a TB tribute album - "Things Can Only Get Better (1997) to Keep The Faith" (2006 remix).
Of course I signed the petition. Like any sane Tory, whilst the Labour civil war continues I will shore up the weaker side so we don't reach tipping point. A long and bloody mess - brilliant.
David Taylor the Labour MP for North West Leicestershire is a frequent backbench rebel who has made a speciality of the "voting Aye and No" mode of indicating an abstention (see Philip Cowley's website). It's therefore highly improbable for him to have set up the Keeping the Faith website.
I googled a selecion of those names (I'm Mike Hokkerts). The ones I tried came up "not found" or apparently taken from old newspaper reports - and now dead.
The ones on the sig list I mean - the ones aristeides logged are quite interesting too..... USA or non existant.
It really is time to go, Tony's become a parody of himself.
I predicted this at 1:49 on Guido's Blog.

I wish to make an amendment - and say he was also spray painting a picture of Ms Blears in the Guardian at the time.
It took the school caretaker 20 mins to peel if off the toilet seat!
----------------------------------
Talking of bullsh*tters - which emotion will Tony call upon in his moment of failure?
* Will he cry - "It's been a privilege serving you?"
* Will he act surprised - "No one is more surprised than me?"
* Will he be angry - "Brown's bloody bastards?"
Which ever emotion he calls upon you just know he's practicing in front of the toiler mirror.
What a brilliant hoot - must use some of these characters in my next novel. Haven't had so much fun reading a list for ages. But I agree with Bartman, where's Ivor Bigwun or Ellie Fant - I am sure they are Tony supporters.
So this is political activity in the Nulab party. You couldn't make it up...
Gosh. All those achievements. Omitted the one about leaping tall buildings in a single bound though. Oh well.
To paraphrase an old joke about the Isle of Wight ferry, what's Brown and comes steaming out of cows....
Is this the point at which we discover that this list of names was plagiarised from an undergraduate thesis published on the web?
Those names, those names, those names!!!!!!!!
Iain, you have GOT to publish the petition list in full.
yrs,
Sir Charles Hardly-Wyrthitte
For all about David Taylor and his other websites, see bloggerheads
Dizzy is a Tory & an Evertonian.
Yin and Yang I suppose...
it's the blue you see. why would want I want to be red shite?
Absolutely fantastic. It got sabotaged! See http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/09/08/blair_boosters_trolled/ for more. It's been cleaned up now but the archive is here. http://crap.wapoc.com/blair/
Labour - about as good as running web sites as they are at running the country...?
...and now it's been ripped off at http://www.keeping-the-faith.org.uk
...tsk tsk
