BNP Attenshun!

I have now arrived at the rather luxurious Quay Hotel in Deganwy, just outside Llandudno. On my way up here I experienced something which I found profoundly disturbing. As I turned off the M40 onto the M42, there, parked on a bridge above the motorway was one of those advertising vans - you know, the ones with sloped sides carrying posters on each side. And there, resplendent on the van was a huge BNP poster. OK, nothing wrong with that, they are a legitimate political party. Why shouldn't they hire a van to display election posters?

The reason I found it disturbing was that on each side of the van was a semi-uniformed man, standing to attention in a military manner, holding a Flag of St George. To all intents and purposes they looked like para military guards on patrol, protecting Birmingham from the invading hordes. I wish I could have stopped to take a picture. It really was most bizarre.

Springtime, for Griffin and Bermondsey.

Winter for Labour and Brown.

If you looked closer they would have been in WW2 outfits, fits in with the BNP campaign for the June 4th "Battle for Britain".

If you want paramilitary you only need to look at Jaqui's stormtroopers.

Are you sure it wasn't the Police? They've taken to dressing in para military uniforms lately. David Starkey had a real go at them for it on Questiontime a couple of weeks ago.

I saw some wandering around a shopping centre recently, unshaven, tattoed and dressed like assault troops. Totally unnecessary and most intimidating. But as Starkey said, that's the idea.

You've got to understand that BNP policy isn't the turn-off you suggest; indeed, the opposite is the case.

I wouldn't dare to enter France without regard for that country's culture. I wouldn't dare not to speak French. I wouldn't dare not to defer to that country's culture.

I love France. I love the French. The French culture is unique. I want it treasure it.

The same is true of Italy. I love it. I wouldn't want to change it. Italian culture is precious.

Immigration is bastardising our unique culture. It is disgraceful.

The BNP is not perhaps the best vehicle for the expression of national pride and celebration. But at the present time, it is only party that is putting forward our national interest.

The Conservative party might attempt to triangulate that interest group. It isn't going to work. Britain's indigenous propulation needs a political expression for its interess.

Bit late aren't they?

Look on the bright side, Iain. We Brits don't generally take to the whole "standing at attention waving flags" thing. Chances are they've frightened away far more of those who are wavering as to how to vote than they've attracted.

This is the thing with the BNP, and one of the big reasons why they never make much progress despite having "populist" policies.

They're a bunch of weirdos.

Well, that and the "Labour with racism" thing.

Do you have any proof?

Wooooohhhhh Iain! You actually saw some people in England, today, who gave one damn about their country?! Scandal!!!

For God's sake, give over about the BNP. Why must you and many other liberal commentators devalue the worth of one vote cast for the BNP compared with others to "legitimate" parties? Scared, are we, that the cosy little ZaNu/Con/LD tripartite system might be coming to an end by patriots brave enough to tackle the issues which are most pertinent to the majority of British people?

With regard to uncontrolled immigration and the illiberal values held by Islam you guys seem, for whatever reason I don't know, to see no evil, hear no evil nor speak no evil.

I'd love the Conservative Party to have the balls to adequately address the issue of immigration in this country, minus the seemingly obligatory smears that are lazily directed towards those who voice their concern that, you know what, immigration and multiculturalism ain't all it's cracked up to be.

The problem is that liberals, minus raving Commies, don't live cheek-by-jowl with people who hate this country, have no interest in learning English and, because of their lack of interest in integrating, fall into deprivation and, consequently, commit a disproportionate amount of crime to their actual population.

No right thinking person wants to see forcible deportations of those legally living in this country (the BNP included) while most abhor the underlying current of hostility which some BNP members direct towards ethnic minorities. Furthermore, I despise their radical socialist policies on the economy and the role of the state.

However, given that the party is the only one with leadership willing to tackle this issue head-on I shall vote for them until the Tories, or UKIP, do likewise.

On June 4, UKIP will perform very strongly in the south of England while the BNP will perform strongly across the north-west, Essex and the Midlands. However, whereas UKIP's gains will be all but wiped out come the next General Election, I genuinely believe that the BNP have a realistic chance of winning at least one seat - particularly after today's events in Dewsbury.

The BNP won't go away until we have a sensible, rational discussion in the UK on this challenge - the most important that we have faced since 1945 - without derogatory, unfounded smears, allegations of racism and statistics that reflect the true realities of immigration across our land today.

It's illegal to advertise on a motorway. Report the location to the Highways Agency Information Line and it will be removed.

As Norman says BNP are Labour with racism. Most will heed his advice and vote UKIP.If the latter cannot carry all before them next month they should pack up because this is their golden opportunity.Westminster has been exposed as a pit of corruption. Now the spotlight will turn on Brussels...

I am getting genuinely worried now. Anthony Howard referred earlier today to the Weimar Republic and we seem to be on the precipice of a real disaster
Shame on all those who have ruined Parliament's reputation forever.

Carl said...

yes, you sound disturbed.

It is, of course, all a façade, an attempt to appeal to those who weep at details of the Norman invasion, and see the army as the final bastion of ethnic nationalism. MOVE ON, I say unto thee (not you, Iain, the BNP!).

Iain, if your discription of the location is accurate, I think you'll find that it was in Solihull :P

I don't imagine you saw many St George flags along the A55 Iain.

I would love to know whose idea it was to stock Tesco Bangor with England shirts, which were severely reduced to clear!

BNP are a National Socialist party - even a cursory examination of their website and published policies compares very closely to that of the German NSDAP in the 1930s.

For example, see how the BNP Land & People campaign matches the Nazi 'Blut und Boden' (blood and soil) ideology.

All in all, they are nasty and very stupid little sh1ts.

There's an Irish boozer here in London that I often call in for a pint or two on the way home. Clientelle pretty well white working class, with the emphasis on working.

In the smoking garden, it's not MPs' expenses, Europe or the recession that's top of the conversational chart - it's immigration. I've heard a dozen times 'Don't get me wrong- I'm not racist, I've got black mates ...' which is undoubtedly true.

I can't stand the BNP. But for a whole chunk of society that doesn't read newspapers or watch serious TV news and whose voting intentions are swayed by what others say to them in person more than any other influencing factor, it's clear that BNP = anti immigration. And that's enough.

I have been trying when I can to persuade them to vote UKIP on 4th June - same immigration policy, but they've got black mates too, I say. Like you.

I've never dared suggest they vote Conservative.

Please don't vote BNP or Ukip they are both parties for the people who are not prepared to think. Whatever you my think they are both based on the theory that white is right. Now as a white person I know for damn sure that I am not always right also I know that I wouldn't be upright and walking without the services of my excellent doctor not "white" We all know that Labour got immigration so very wrong but that is no need for acting like the terminally stupid

As has been mentioned, the BNP's latest wheeze is to dress up in WWII uniforms to evoke feelings of patriotism.

Nick Griffin, their Obergruppenfuhrer, was caught posing in front of a picture of a spitfire recently. Turns out it was part of one of the 'immigrant' Polish squadrons that joined the RAF during the war. Somebody in the BNP has a sense of humour.

If you feel intimidated by a uniformed BNP presence in your vicinity, just think of Captain Mainwaring and start humming the theme tune from Dad's Army. You'll soon feel better.

Well at least they're OUR little
sh1ts.
Better them than attracting all the sh!ts from around the world who fight their way across Europe to bring their benefit dependency, backward, homo-phobic, anti-women culture to our shores.

How many members of the BNP support female-circumcision? Yet no mention about what a barbaric practice that is from Dr Feelgood's patronizing holier than thou attitude.

The era of appeasement is coming to an end. The age of Extreame Tolerance has past. Did you not hear the audience of Question Time
singing the song of angry men?

The people of this country will have long memories of just who the appeasers were.

.... can't wait for the first Rock against Racism rally in London. I just hope that today's students are tough enough to go up against the NF neanderthals (or whatever they are called these days)

What happened in Dewsbury today ?

These should be very profitable times for the BNP, but luckily they are populated by nutters and violent criminals so most decent Brits wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Yes, they have some support, but these people are mostly very stupid who don't understand what the BNP is about (what could possibly be patriotic about voting for a party set-up by a man who enjoyed wearing Nazi uniforms?!).

It seems to me that:
a. The cause of a white Britain went long, long ago. It is no longer an option.
b. The three democratic (???) parties have not tackled immigration, the EU or multiculturalism. This makes people who suffer very angry.
c. We know so little about the BNP that it seems far more attractive than it actually is.
Thank Heavens that Nick Griffin has not got a blow dry or the charm of Tony.

I can see that the BNP might feel that there was more risk of their ad being vandalsied, if unattended, than would be the case with the other parties.

And then again maybe the other parties are feeling a bit exposed now too.
