What's more geeky? Me watching this or the re-runs of the 1997 results on the last bank holiday?
Can someone tell me what the ideological differences are between Fianna Fail and Fine Gael are?
They are both right of centre as far as I can make out. I know it had something to do with Michael Collins and Eamon de Valera, but they might as well merge now surely?!
No real differance Andrew. Irish politics has never really been about ideology. FG would be slighly more right then FF but not really.
FF doing very well might get a majority Sinn Fein struggling PD's possible total wipe out Labour struggling FG doing OK picking up seats Greens slighly down Keep eye here

I really should get out more.
I'd love to, but I have to go and watch some paint dry.
I'd only watch the 'oiroish' election if Terry 'The Wig' Wogan was doing the commentary! I can imagine it now - 'Who voted for that eejit!?!'

In the long run I think STV would suit the British Tories better than FPTP (which has an in built Labour bias).
Ooh I'm so excited, I can hardly wait.
