The Most Revolting Football Strip Ever

This is Tottenham Hostpur's new away strip. Bring's a whole new relevance to the chant:

YOU'RE SH*T, AND YOU KNOW YOU ARE

Iain, get real. This is a good third kit, and if I were buying a football shirt this season, this would not be the last one I would pick up.

If you want a revolting Football shirt, this is not a patch on the Arsenal bumble-bee kit of the 90's. Come to think of it Westham have had there kit nightmares too..

Perfect for Tottenham. Nuff Said

designed by Mark Oaten?

OK, I have to admit I'm lost -- one football kit looks as ugly as the next to me, and, being female, I have a vested interest in the teams going back to the wondeful ancient tradition of nekkid sports 8-) Still, I think I need an explanation as to why this kit is exceptionally ugly, as opposed to normally ugly %-)

That has nothing on the famed Beige Brigade uniform, feel free to do a Google Image search.

I actually quite like this one.

anonymous = Spurs fan

awful kit to be true.

those are mansion's corporate/website colours. I guess if you pay enough, then you can get anything.

Croydonian said...

They are calling it the lasagne special over at KUMB......

Meanwhile, anyone fancy wearing one of these?

Anonymous said...

You must mean "You're sh*t and you look like it!!

Dizzy

I'm a Spurs fan, and to me that is shit.... bad enough that there is red on the damn thing, but that and brown? Which has never been a Spurs colour.... Blue/Purples or yellows have always been our 2nd and third choice (yellow seems to have been relegated to 3rd choice behind cyan recently....)

But there is no way on this earth I would ever consider accepting that as a gift, let alone part with £50 to buy it....

Oh, and Martin - you wouldn't be a gooner by any chance would you? Scared we are going to finally put you south of us, where you belong....

Fascist scum black-shirts ............

You think that strip's revolting? Read the last part of Simon Jenkin's post on the Guardian's CiF.

"I would sail the first Red Cross ship into Beirut harbour. But I would sink the first aircraft carrier."

HMS Illustrious is on its way to the eastern med at this moment.

Anonymous said...

Its not the greatest kit but when you have the 3rd highest sponsorship deal in the UK who cares..............

Seeing as you are a West Spam fan Iain I thought you would be above obsessive compulsive behaviour towards Spurs, but you fit the mould neatly.....

To be honest you sound like Matthew Norman today.

I think all football shirts went to hell in a handcart in the early 70's, and have been trundling onwards ever since. For what that's worth.

Anonymous said...

That will blend nicely in with all the mud when they next get to visit Stamford Bridge.

You're going to get Lynne Truss on your case at this rate:

Bring's a whole new relevance...

Anonymous said...

Looks like the Spurs are turning into the goths.

Up the Blues.

(Chelsea Blues that is)

Anonymous said...

It's a very practical colour, it won't need to be washed after every match.

Anonymous said...

As a non sports person I wonder if the colour is an unconcious display of the designers opinion of the teams' quality of play?

Friends of mine who go to Highbury, Arsenal is it? Always say that strangers can always tell Spurs ground from theirs because of the smell.

I believe in the days of real soccer Spurs shout used to be 'Up the lilly whites!'
Perhaps an alternative is now more suitable.

Dear Mr Dale

I fail to understand what the asterisk stands for in the slogan. Has someone been shot? Or shut?

Modern soccer is a puzzle.

Hoping you can enlighten me,

I remain

Yours, &c.

A. de Tocquaine

Sorry, stupid of a mere female. I used to belong to the organisation. The shout must now be 'Up the Brownies!'

I know, I know, 'Yes please!'

Anonymous said...

Spurs wore those colours back in the late nineteenth century, when Arsenal were still trapassing around Woolwich common before their Wimbledon-esque move to North London.

Anonymous said...

Less a crap kit, more a crap photo. It is impossible to see who the shirt sponsor is - is this the gag that we have all missed ?

Anonymous said...

Can we use the word cunt on this forum?

Okay, spammers including your good self Iain are a bunch of knuckle dragging racist cunts. Soon be back in the championship where your shitty little team belongs.

Anonymous said...

NJot only are you a politician, you're a tory. Not only are you a tory, you're a West Ham supporter LOL. Fair play you got the short end of the straw.

Anonymous said...

Iain - we know you like to post your footy stuff, but please, please moderate and let's not go back to the disgusting and abusive comments from Arsenal "supporters" of a few months back - judging by the one just above we are heading in that direction.

Bobby Dazzler said...

hahahahah fashion criticism from a Spammer. A right-wing one at that! Who would have thought. Althouth the BNP are more in evidence at the Boleyn than the Tories. Still. Best of luck for the season after next. I hear the Championship is really missing your lot.

PS got any future English internationals we can buy off you for peanuts?

I see Anon 5.25 is doing the rounds of the blogs leaving his usual trail of inane vitriol. Since you introduce genitalia as a form of insult, I am happy to be referred to as a c---. You, in contrast, are a mule's poes(afr.) - useless to man and beast. C$ needs you for their new program. Hop it.

Croydonian said...

PCF - whatever gave you that idea? I rather like the times we live in (the current govt etc excepted).

ian said...

And so the mystery of what happened to the leftover Arsenal shirts from last season is solved at last.

Anonymous said...

They can wipe their arses with them and not show the stains.

Anonymous said...

Says the Spammer!!

It's dark brown and gold, our colours from the 1880s, before West Ham were even founded :)

Anonymous said...

while on the topic of revolting 'branding' we seem to have had the disgusting green with the equally vomit inducing comment from Frankie on your banner for ages now Iain!

Anonymous said...

Still doesn't match the Coventry City away kit from the late 70's/early 80's

Anonymous said...

Politically, the worst strip ever was the orange glasgow rangers strip of (I think) the 2001-2002 season. That wound people up.

aidanrad said...

Actually, as a Spurs fan, I'm not that fussed by the first pictures - and as someone's mentioned, there is justification in the club's early days for this (ahem) "chocolate and gold" version.

After all, it may well look rather different - maybe better - in real life.

Can't quite see "Up the brown shirts" catching on, somehow, though...
