Today's Daily Mail carries half a page detailing how American billionaire Philip Anschutz made contact with John Prescott via PR man and political lobbyist Matthew Freud. What an intriguing world of interconnections and dodgy tentacles the Mail made it all sound, and quite right too. But hang on a moment. In a recent Independent on Sunday column a certain Sarah Sands boasted about how she had been round to Freud's Notting Hill house to watch some World Cup football. Very cosy it all sounded. This same Sarah Sands just happens to be working, at present, as a Daily Mail consultant. If the Mail's sleuths need to know any more about Freud all they have to do is walk down the corridor and ask their consultant!
